Dynamic properties of successful plural leadership configuration: An exploratory process-study
2023
Our article introduces an exploratory process study of successful plural leadership configuration in searching for alternative solutions to wicked problems. The study was executed within four educational organisations that solved challenging wicked problems arising from today’s changing contexts. We argue that plural leadership configuration is a dynamic process when people in diverse organisational positions, roles, and levels design profitable endeavours through their ideas and activities, bring about desirable outcomes within diverse conditions and outline the future. We searched for potential systemic patterns, characteristics, and structure within this dynamic process. To find these p…
Crítica a la naturalización del deontologismo en la teoría del proceso dual del juicio moral de Joshua Greene
2018
In this paper I propose to question the Joshua Greene’s neuroethical thesis about the essentially emotional character of so-called “deontological moral judgments”. Frist, I focus on the dual process theory of moral judgment and I criticize that they are considered only and mainly intuitive and non reflective. Se condly, I question that the “utilitarian judgment” is linked to mathematical calculation and the deontological judgment is exclusively reduced to non-reflective factor of emotion. The main objection to Greene’s naturalism raised by me is trying to eliminate the philosophical justification about the moral validity defended by Kant’s deontologism; meanwhile Greene reduces “deontologic…
Ethics of data journalism : Four ethical phases in the working process
2016
A paper presented at Nordic Data Journalism Conference NODA 2016, 21 April 2016 in Helsinki, Finland. Data journalism has emerged remarkably during the last years. Discussions of data journalism have mostly concentrated on access to data, preparing a data story and providing truthful information based on data. However, ethical requirements and responsibilities of data journalism have not been widely discussed. For instance, press councils do not particularly discuss data and its impact on journalism ethics. Data when mentioned in the codes usually refer to information and its accuracy requirements to be take into consideration in information gathering and publishing. This paper analyses eth…
Interpretation of journalistic photographs as an instrument of visual literacy education
2016
Images are produced, used and distributed on an enormous scale. However, the skills of understanding, interpreting and using images as well as thinking and learning in terms of images are taken for granted, and thus, they are not sufficiently taught and developed, especially in higher education. The need for introducing visual literacy into the curriculum was identified in late 1960s, but no concrete guidelines have followed. This study proposes to apply interpretation of journalistic photographs as an instrument of visual literacy education. The main focus is on the image interpretation process and the kinds of meanings viewers apply to a photograph in the interpretation process. In each o…
Designing education democratically through deliberative crowdsourcing : the case of the Finnish curriculum for basic education
2020
In Finland, curriculum design is allegedly carried out through a deliberative process that involves various stakeholders, interest groups, experts and ordinary citizens. To facilitate participation in curriculum design, online crowdsourcing has been applied. The objective of this study is to explore to what extent the design process of the latest Finnish national curriculum for mathematics was open, democratic and deliberative. The theoretical framework of the study is the theory of democratic will-formation of the German philosopher Jürgen Habermas. The comments given on the early version of the core curriculum of mathematics were analysed using directed content analysis, in which the abov…
Kriminālprocesa īpatnības piemērojot piespiedu ietekmēšanas līdzekļus juridiskām personām
2016

2016
Maksātnespējas likuma mērķis un procesa būtība ir noteikta likuma 1.pantā, proti, maksātnespējas procesa administratoram jāveicina finansiālās grūtībās nonākuša parādnieka saistību izpildi un, ja iespējams, tā maksātspējas atjaunošanu. Systemic Management of Architectural Decisions in Enterprise Architecture Planning. Four Dimensions and Three Abstraction Levels
2006
This paper presents a process model for the management of architectural decisions in enterprise architecture planning. First, decisions are made at the enterprise level, with strategic business considerations on the enterprise information, systems and technology strategy and governance issues. The next step is to define the domains, to then go on with domain architecture decisions. At the systems level, the enterprise and domain architecture decisions are collected and converted into architecture descriptions accurate in precision, form and detail to be given as input to the information systems development process, following the architectural planning. The model is derived from previous wor…
