Slight variations in components ratio affect odor pleasantness of a blending mixture

International audience; Odors rely mainly on the perception of odorants mixtures but are commonly perceived as single undivided entities; nevertheless, the processes involved remain poorly explored. It has been reported that perceptual blending, based on configural olfactory processing, can lead odorant mixtures to give rise to an emergent odor quality not present in the components. Local indicators of spatio-temporal association on linear networks
In this work, we extend the Local Indicators of Spatio-Temporal Association (LISTA) functions (Siino et al. 2018) to the non-Euclidean space of linear networks. We introduce the local version of some inhomogeneous second-order statistics for spatio-temporal point processes on linear networks (Morandi and Mateu, 2019), namely the K-function and the pair correlation function. Following the work of Adelfio et al. (2019) for the Euclidean case, we employ the proposed LISTA functions to assess the goodness-of-fit of different spatio-temporal models fitted to point patterns occurring on linear networks. ACL; International audience; Le bassin de Gap connaît un accroissement démographique en milieu périurbain, ce qui nécessite l'analyse de la carte scolaire afin de créer de nouveaux collèges. Ce bassin de population, marqué par des contraintes fortes, est un véritable espace vécu dans le sens où il est structuré par des aires de recrutement résultant des pratiques spatiales des élèves et de leurs familles. Une étude approfondie des structures et des dynamiques spatiales de ce bassin permet de tirer quelques leçons quant au fonctionnement d'un territoire scolaire.

Linear Types for Higher Order Processes with First Class Directed Channels

Abstract We present a small programming language for distributed systems based on message passing processes. In contrast to similar languages, channels are one-to-one connections between a unique sender and a unique receiver process. Process definitions and channels are first class values and the topology of process systems can change dynamically. The operational semantics of the language is defined by means of graph rewriting rules. A static type system based on the notion of linear types ensures that channels are always used as one-to-one connections.

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest określenie psychologicznych uwarunkowań i procesów, które odgrywają kluczową rolę w budowaniu i rozwijaniu otwartości na dialog międzyreligijny. Dwa czynniki decydują o stylu prowadzenia dialogu międzyreligijnego: cechy osobowości (ugodowość i otwartość na doświadczenie) oraz postawy religijne (dojrzała religijność). Formują one atmosferę tolerancji, która jest szczególnie ważna w dialogu, gdyż tworzy wolność religijną, która jest niezbędnym warunkiem dialogu międzyreligijnego.
