Background: In nurses, self-compassion mitigates the effects of stress, burnout and compassion fatigue, and enhances empathy, compassion and well-being and quality of life. The Self-Compassion Scale is the most-used instrument. The aim of this study is to validate the Spanish version of the new developed State Self-Compassion Scale–Long (SSCS–L). An integrative dual-route model of rhythm perception and production

An integrative dual-route model of rhythm perception and production is proposed here. Furthermore, an empirical study illustrated in the second part of this paper provides evidence of the existence of two different cognitive pathways. The development of the model is based on fundamental psychological principles of perception, action control and relevant neurobiological findings in rhythm processing and sensorimotor synchronization.
