Las autoras de este artículo reflexionan sobre los cierres y recortes en recursos de servicios sociales en general y de atención a las mujeres víctimas de violencia de género en particular, concluyendo que es la ideología mercantilista aplicada a los recursos sociales de atención a los más necesitados, la principal causante de que estos no funcionen adecuadamente y de que las mujeres víctimas de violencia en muchos casos no reciban la atención que seria necesaria.

The Agency and Practical Learning of a Lay Advocate in Seventeenth-Century Helsinki : The Case of Gabriel Abrahamsson

This chapter discusses seventeenth-century Sweden, where academically trained advocates and procurators emerged but attempts of advocacy monopoly failed. The case of Gabriel Abrahamsson—a son of a pastor, a former cavalryman and farmer, and, later on, a lower-level civil servant in Helsinki—proves that no specific privileged status or academic education was needed for advocacy in lower courts. Three orientations for understanding educational autonomy: school principals’ voices from Australia, Finland, and Jamaica

This paper reports on the findings from a multi-site case study conducted in Australia, Finland and Jamaica which explored the conditions that enabled and constrained the autonomy of school principals. Systematic data collection was carried out in the form of interviews of school principals and the data was analysed using a qualitative approach.
