Methodologies for applying teaching ethics

2016

International survey of violence risk assessment practices

2016

International audience; Objective Mental health professionals are routinely called upon to assess the violence risk presented by their patients, frequently aided by structured instruments. Method A web-based survey was developed to examine the international use of structured instruments in the violence risk assessment process across five continents and to compare the perceived utility of such instruments by psychologists, psychiatrists, and nurses. The survey was trans…

Lo studio Basile. Crocevia di arti e mestieri.

2013

2009

Cultural development has been the object of a number of studies, especially in its relations with cultural policy -or policies- or even through the theoretical study and implementation of cultural action, one of its preferred functions. Within these two fields of research, neither occupational sociologists nor scientists working in the area of information and communication have ever singled out cultural actors as a professional group for the object of a study. The current research intends to explore this issue of the professionality of cultural actors, particularly in so far as concerns their contribution to cultural development. After having stated that these practitioners belong to a grou…

STEAMTEACH Austria: Towards a STEAM Professional Development Program

2022

The STEAMTEACH (STEAM Education for Teaching Professionalism) project works with teacher trainers to develop a program of Transcultural STEAM Professional Development for in- and pre-service teachers. Following a literature review, a semi-structured questionnaire then interviews approach was used to elicit current practice, challenges for teachers and recommendations from Austrian teacher trainers. These recommendations were then compared with and supported by STEAM academic literature. It was found that none of the institutions offered a STEAM approach and it does not appear in the curriculum. Indeed, this fact is the primary challenge to overcome. Recommendations were that teachers should…
