The influence of age-based faultlines on team performance: Examining mediational paths

Abstract In a sample of 60 branches of a bank, we examine the influence of age-based faultlines on team performance. Specifically, we propose a model with four mediational paths in the age-based faultline-team performance link. Using a time-lagged design with three data-collection points, we found that task conflict, team reflexivity, and negative team mood mediated the negative relationship between age-based faultline strength and team performance. Pedagogical translation, subtitles and ICTs: collaborative projects in L2classroom

[EN] With this paper we offer a contribution to the debate on the importance of translation for learning a second language in the classroom. We exemplify its use as a didactic resource and as a learning tool. We show the methodological bases for a proposal consisting of three collaborative translation projects. This projects were carried out in higher education, namely in a Catalan as a Foreign Language (CLE) classroom at the Université de Picardie Jules Verne (France) in face-to-face and virtual scenarios. These practices are grouped into three different didactic sequences that deal with a given discursive genre –a music video, a commercial and a recipe– and that are realized as a teamwork.
Distribution of Working Time and Contents of Physiotherapy Activities in a Clinical Setting.

The purpose of the present study was to collect personnel utilization data in the physiotherapy department of a general hospital as a basis for improving the practice of physiotherapy. Over a four-week period in a process of continuous observation 12 physiotherapists recorded their activities under predefined task categories. The percentages of total time used in the observed activities were as follows: direct patient treatment 31%, other work (planning, recording, arranging walking aids and student guidance) 10%, and cooperation (consultation, meetings, arranging patients' affairs, counselling relatives and parents) 9%. This paper studies the market scope of vendors that produce software for telecommunications operators, i.e. the Operations Support Systems (OSS) market. The aim is to find out the strategies used by vendors in the OSS market. The market scope is studied on two dimensions: 1) the breadth of the scope in the OSS market; and 2) focus on the telecommunications industry. A Controllable Text Simplification System for the Italian Language

Text simplification is a non-trivial task that aims at reducing the linguistic complexity of written texts. Researchers have studied the problem by proposing new methodologies for addressing the English language, but other languages, like the Italian one, are almost unexplored. In this paper, we give a contribution to the enhancement of the Automated Text Simplification research by presenting a deep learning-based system, inspired by a state of the art system for the English language, capable of simplifying Italian texts. The system has been trained and tested by leveraging the Italian version of Newsela; it has shown promising results by achieving a SARI value of 30.17.

Canonical vision models of the retina-to-V1 cortex pathway consist of cascades of several Linear+Nonlinear layers. In this setting, parameter tuning is the key to obtain a sensible behavior when putting all these multiple layers to work together.
