Metilazione del DNA in artrite reumatoide
2005
How to make people become Ambassadors of Jazz - A Comparative Case Study of Voluntary Jazz Concert Promoters in Agder
2018
Master's thesis Music Management MU501 - University of Agder 2018 This study observes the comparative cases of two jazz clubs in the region of Agder, South of Norway. The cases investigated are the Non-Profit Organisations (NPOs) and voluntary associations (VOs); Kristiansand Jazzvesen (KJV) and Arendal Jazzklubb (AJ), that has slightly different organisational structures and environments. The main objective has been to unveil if there is a need for ambassadors of jazz, or jazz enthusiasts, in order for these jazz concert promoters to ‘thrive’, improve their live jazz concert experiences and recruit new volunteers. Then, how this can be achieved in a fast-changing digitalised “festivalised”…
PSMA6 gēna promotera poliadenozīna trakta polimorfismu asociācija ar bronhiālo astmu, aptaukošanos un 1. tipa cukura diabētu Latvijas populācijā
2015
Tas var būt atkarīgs no proteasomas gēnu strukturālām pārmaiņām, kuri kodē proteasomu apakšvienības. Šajā pētījumā mēs analizējam asociāciju starp PSMA6 gēna promotera poly(A) (c.
Biologically active compounds in algae and their application in plant growth stimulation
2016
In recent years the bioactive substances of natural origin gained more and more interest. Among such substances, the compounds isolated from microalgae and seaweeds, mainly the polyphenols, polysaccharides, plant hormones, pigments and fatty acids, an find an application in many industries, particularly in medicine, pharmaceutics, cosmetics and agriculture. Biostimulants from seaweeds have been used and manufactured for years, giving confirmation of its effectiveness in field trials, enhancing the growth of crops giving better yields. Nowadays, the legislation processes are more difficult and intricate, so it is harder to register new products. Everyone put more attention on the answers for…
Plant Growth-Promoting Activities of Bacteria Isolated from an Anthropogenic Soil Located in Agrigento Province
2022
Bacteria producers of plant growth-promoting (PGP) substances are responsible for the enhancement of plant development through several mechanisms. The purpose of the present work was to evaluate the PGP traits of 63 bacterial strains that were isolated from an anthropogenic soil, and obtained by modification of vertisols in the Sicily region (Italy) seven years after creation. The microorganisms were tested for the following PGP characteristics: indole acetic acid (IAA), NH3, HCN and siderophore production, 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate deaminase activity (ACC) and phosphate solubilization. The results of principal component analysis (PCA) showed that Bacillus tequilensis SI 319, Brevib…
INTER-ORGANIZATIONAL INNOVATION PROMOTERS IN SMALL, KNOWLEDGE-INTENSIVE FIRMS
2009
This paper examines the relationship between external relations and innovation in small, knowledge-intensive Norwegian firms. Our findings indicate that external relations are beneficial for innovation. The analysis shows that it is necessary to treat innovation as more than a concept. Our independent variables related differently to product innovation, process innovation, and market innovation. We found that market participation in product development has a positive impact on product, process and market innovation. We also found that top management interaction with other firms had a positive effect on market innovation and that top management interaction with external R&D had a positive…
The Expression of NOX From Synthetic Promoters Reveals an Important Role of the Redox Status in Regulating Secondary Metabolism of
2020
Redox cofactors play a pivotal role in primary cellular metabolism, whereas the clear link between redox status and secondary metabolism is still vague. In this study we investigated effects of redox perturbation on the production of erythromycin in Saccharopolyspora erythraea by expressing the water-forming NADH oxidase (NOX) from Streptococcus pneumonia at different levels with synthetic promoters. The expression of NOX reduced the intracellular [NADH]/[NAD+] ratio significantly in S. erythraea which resulted in an increased production of erythromycin by 19∼29% and this increment rose to 60% as more oxygen was supplied. In contrast, the lower redox ratio resulted in a decreased production…
Expanding the toolbox for Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 : validation of replicative vectors and characterization of a novel set of promoters
2018
Cyanobacteria are promising ‘low-cost’ cell factories since they have minimal nutritional requirements, high metabolic plasticity and can use sunlight and CO2 as energy and carbon sources. The unicellular Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803, already considered the ‘green’ Escherichia coli, is the best studied cyanobacterium but to be used as an efficient and robust photoautotrophic chassis it requires a customized and well-characterized toolbox. In this context, we evaluated the possibility of using three self-replicative vectors from the Standard European Vector Architecture (SEVA) repository to transform Synechocystis. Our results demonstrated that the presence of the plasmid does not lead to an e…
Phosphate-controlled regulator for the biosynthesis of the dalbavancin precursor A40926
2007
ABSTRACT The actinomycete Nonomuraea sp. strain ATCC 39727 produces the glycopeptide A40926, the precursor of the novel antibiotic dalbavancin. Previous studies have shown that phosphate limitation results in enhanced A40926 production. The A40926 biosynthetic gene ( dbv ) cluster, which consists of 37 genes, encodes two putative regulators, Dbv3 and Dbv4, as well as the response regulator (Dbv6) and the sensor-kinase (Dbv22) of a putative two-component system. Reverse transcription-PCR (RT-PCR) and real-time RT-PCR analysis revealed that the dbv14 - dbv8 and the dbv30 - dbv35 operons, as well as dbv4 , were negatively influenced by phosphate. Dbv4 shows a putative helix-turn-helix DNA-bind…
Biologically active organic compounds, especially plant promoters, in algae extracts and their potential application in plant cultivation
2015
Scientific efforts taken during the past decades undoubtedly have proven that algae are organisms wealthy in various chemical substances such as carbohydrates, proteins, and minerals, as well as polysaccharides, polyphenols, phlorotannins, pigments, unsaturated fats, sterols, and of course growth promoting substances like phytohormones. It is noteworthy that among the many biologically active compounds obtained from seaweeds, plant hormones seem to be the most essential for enhancing the growth and development of crop plants. This fact is well reflected in over 60 years of the long history of controlled application of algae origin products as natural fertilizers in crop production. Neverthe…
