O presente artigo tem por objetivo analisar o conflito ente o direito de acesso à informação pública e o direito à proteção de dados pessoais. O primeiro estabelece que toda informação mantida por órgãos públicos é, em regra, acessível, sendo o sigilo uma exceção. O segundo, por outro lado, determina que as informações relativas a pessoas identificadas ou identificáveis devem ser protegidas e seu tratamento e transmissão a terceiros somente se permite com o consentimento do seu titular ou em situações especiais legalmente previstas. The revitalisation of canvassing in recent elections is strongly related to campaigns´ growing possibilities for analysing voter data to gain knowledge about their constituents, identifying their most likely voters and serving up personalised messages through individual conversations. The research literature about political micro-targeting hardly ever focusses on campaigns in parliamentary democracies with strict data protection laws. El presente estudio analiza la situación de la gestión de los residuos y la problemática medioambiental del municipio de Puçol (Valencia) a partir del análisis estadístico multivariante de datos de una encuesta sociológica. Se ponen de manifiesto los siguientes aspectos: a) El porcentaje de población que recicla correctamente todo tipo de residuos es únicamente del 8,93% y el porcentaje de personas que reciclan algún tipo de residuo es del 60,97%; b) tener un alto nivel de estudios y el hecho de disponer de contenedores cercanos conlleva que, de forma significativa, se recicle más y mejor; c) el contenedor de plásticos, bricks y latas no es utilizado apropiadamente, dado que más del 70% de …
Eutrophication control by lime addition: A preliminary approach in Sicilian reservoirs

Sicilian reservoirs, a vital resource for this densely populated island, are undergoing increased eutrophication processes, due to the lack of urban waste treatment plants and to intense agriculture. Massive blooms of toxic cyanobacteria represent one of the most obvious consequences, and can be dangerous for population health. The possibility of a fast, even if only short term, recovery of water quality through application of lime, was tested through analysis of ion dynamics in two reservoirs, to develop an `emergency plan', to counteract cyanobacterial blooms and to decrease the risk for human health. Abstract At a team residency sponsored by the Rockefeller Foundation in Bellagio, Italy, 10-14 April 2000 an organizational plan was conceived to create a global network of collaborating health workers and earth scientists dedicated to the development of computer-based models that can be used for improved control programs for schistosomiasis and other snail-borne diseases of medical and veterinary importance. Steroids may have a powerful role in neuronal degeneration. Recent research has revealed that steroids may influence the onset and progression of some retinal disorders as well as neurodegenerative diseases and, as in brain, they accumulate in the retina via a local synthesis (neurosteroids) and metabolism of blood-circulating steroid hormones.
