This is is a paper about the history of Catalan proverbs borrowed by Spanish tradition and lost in modern Catalan. The authors give the real origin of such proverbs and stress the sociolinguistic relevance of this «oblivion», as a kind of inferiority complex, to the present-day consciousness of the Catalan speech community.

Abstract A crucial component of language is represented by the prosodic system because it provides essential elements to speaker about how a sentence should be interpreted or intended (Fodor, 2002). Przykazania w biblijnym Izraelu stanowiły trwały fundament relacji z Bogiem i z drugim człowiekiem, będąc tym samym podstawowym elementem formowania się społeczności ludzkiej. W tym względzie przykazanie „Nie mów fałszywego świadectwa przeciw bliźniemu swemu”, nabierało szczególnej wartości. Wielość i różnorodność sytuacji skłaniała do prawnych uściśleń, czego potwierdzeniem jest kodeks praw w Księdze Wyjścia i w Księdze Powtórzonego Prawa. This article is devoted to the analysis of the use of the Russian proverb by Polish Internet users: ”We’re getting it done, slowly but surely”. The analysis showed that the authors of the statements know the origin of this proverb, but misunderstand its meaning, which is caused by an interlanguage homonymy.

The purpose of this article is to introduce some features of the relationship between proverbs and gender in Finnish folklore tradition. I focus on pedagogical speech using proverbs in the life-stories from the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. The main interest is on bringing up children concentrating on the written memories and the everyday life of ordinary people. This deals with the private level of education in childhood memories.
