Most of the studies that showed a link between gaze allocation and consumer's food choices were performed on food products belonging to a same category. However, consumers usually make food choices in more complex environments, between many different products, and different factors can influence their choices. Transient dynamics of pulse-driven memristors in the presence of a stable fixed point

Abstract Some memristors are quite interesting from the point of view of dynamical systems. When driven by narrow pulses of alternating polarities, their dynamics has a stable fixed point, which may be useful for future applications. We study the transient dynamics of two types of memristors characterized by a stable fixed point using a time-averaged evolution equation. Time-averaged trajectories of the Biolek window function memristor and resistor-threshold type memristor circuit (an effective memristor) are determined analytically, and the times of relaxation to the stable fixed point are found. Our analytical results are in perfect agreement with the results of numerical simulations.

Bifurcation analysis of a TaO memristor model

2019

This paper presents a study of bifurcation in the time-averaged dynamics of TaO memristors driven by narrow pulses of alternating polarities. The analysis, based on a physics-inspired model, focuses on the stable fixed points and on how these are affected by the pulse parameters. Our main finding is the identification of a driving regime when two stable fixed points exist simultaneously. To the best of our knowledge, such bistability is identified in a single memristor for the first time. This result can be readily tested experimentally, and is expected to be useful in future memristor circuit designs.

Visualizing coherent molecular rotation in a gaseous medium

Inducing and controlling the ultrafast molecular rotational dynamics using shaped laser fields is essential in numerous applications. Several approaches exist that allow following the coherent molecular motion in real-time, including Coulomb explosion-based techniques and recovering molecular orientation from the angular distribution of high harmonics. The temporal analogue of diffractive couplers

International audience; Based on the space-time duality of light, we numerically demonstrate that temporal dispersion grating couplers can generate from a single pulse an array of replicas of equal amplitude. The phase-only profile of the temporal grating is optimized by a genetic algorithm that takes into account the optoelectronic bandwidth limitations of the setup.

Deposition of indium tin oxide films by laser ablation: Processing and characterization

Abstract In this work an indium tin oxide thin film fabrication technique based on pulsed laser deposition is described and the electrical, optical and mechanical properties of the deposited films are reported. An E-plane EBG waveguide for dispersion compensated transmission of short pulses

The resolution of radar applications can significantly suffer from pulse broadening along the propagation in homogeneous hollow waveguides. The latter occurs due to the strongly dispersive nature of the fast waves in the waveguides. A low-cost solution to this problem is here proposed, employing an EBG type of waveguide, compatible with traditional E-plane fabrication techniques. By means of an example, here we demonstrate the reduction of the pulse spreading as it propagates along this type of waveguide.

High spatiotemporal resolution in multifocal processing with femtosecond laser pulses.

We report spatial and temporal dispersion compensation for fan-out of femtosecond pulses with a low-frequency diffraction grating by means of a hybrid diffractive-refractive lens triplet. In this way, we achieve a multifocal light structure with nearly diffraction-limited light spots even for 20 fs pulse duration. The spatial chromatic compensation, which drastically reduces the lateral walk-off of the various spectral components, also allows us to improve the available bandwidth at the dispersion-compensated diffraction orders.
