The tensorial Bernstein basis for multivariate polynomials in n variables has a number 3n of functions for degree 2. Consequently, computing the representation of a multivariate polynomial in the tensorial Bernstein basis is an exponential time algorithm, which makes tensorial Bernstein-based solvers impractical for systems with more than n = 6 or 7 variables. This article describes a polytope (Bernstein polytope) with a number of faces, which allows to bound a sparse, multivariate polynomial expressed in the canonical basis by solving several linear programming problems. International audience; We study a class of $PT$-symmetric semiclassical Schrodinger operators, which are perturbations of a selfadjoint one. Here, we treat the case where the unperturbed operator has a double-well potential. In the simple well case, two of the authors have proved in [6] that, when the potential is analytic, the eigenvalues stay real for a perturbation of size $O(1)$. We show here, in the double-well case, that the eigenvalues stay real only for exponentially small perturbations, then bifurcate into the complex domain when the perturbation increases and we get precise asymptotic expansions. This article offers a short analysis of the different meanings and connotations of the three names given in 1525 by Toledo's Holy Office to the new Cas lian here cs-the « alumbrados », also called « dexados » and « perfects ». In order to be exhaustive, this taxinomic study of Castilian illuminism adds the name « recogidos » to this list, since those spirituals are often mentioned in the testimonies included in the trials. Climate and agriculture: empirical evidence for countries and agroecological zones of the Sahel

International audience; ow heterogenous is the impact of climate change across space and the type of agricultural production? In this paper, we investigate the relationship between climate change and variability, measured by temperature and rainfall, and agricultural production at the country and agroecological zone levels of the Sahel. We consider a crop production index and five cereals (maize, millet, sorghum, wheat and rice). Based on an original climate database and an agricultural production function estimated for the period 1961–2016, we show that average rainfall and temperature during the growing season indeed have highly heterogeneous effects on agricultural production, depending …

In times of crisis people are thinking how to make the best choice to be more profitable. Both the manufacturers and the consumers must choose the best solutions for them and their businesses. Making a choice between organic and conventional methods in times of crisis is even more difficult considering production costs and consumption patterns. What is the composition of production costs for an apple orchard, how they can be divided into homogeneous categories and why to choose green are the questions we have tried to answer in this paper.
Political Action Beyond Resistance: Arendt and "Revolutionary Spirit" in Egypt

The article examines what it calls the "politics-as-resistance" frame in contemporary political theory, originating in the works of Michel Foucault and Judith Butler. This way of organizing political experience is contrasted with Hannah Arendt's political thought, particularly her writings on revolutionary action. Arendt's often overlooked – and partly unpublished – passages on virtù and fortuna are further suggested as important additions to her thinking on action. I argue that Arendt's "world-centric" approach can illuminate certain aspects of political experience that remain dimmed in the more subject-oriented politics-as-resistance frame.
