Tutkielmassa esitellään relaatio- ja epärelaatiotietokantoja sekä paneudutaan niiden ominaisuuksiin. Nykyään erilaisia tietokantahallintajärjestelmiä on paljon. Ongelmaksi tulee se, että mikä tietokantahallintajärjestelmä on järkevin valinta uudelle ohjelmistoprojektille. Valinnan tärkeyttä korostaa vielä se, että kehitettävä ohjelma tulee olemaan sidottu kyseiseen tietokantaan koko projektin aikajänteen ja sen vaihtaminen projektin edetessä tulee päivä päivältä kalliimmaksi. Darba mērķis ir izpētīt populārakas datubāzu pārvaldības sistēmas, izpētīt populārako ne relāciju datubāzi MongoDB un salīdzināt to ar SQL datubāzēm, kā arī eksperementāli salīdzināt to veiktspēju.

Maģistra darbā tiek aprakstītas telpisko datu kvalitātes problēmas, kas skar ĢIS lietotājus un izstrādātājus pēdējos 20 – 30 gadus. Kaut arī telpisko datu apstrādei tiek izstrādāti starptautiski standarti, izveidotas jaunas vizualizācijas metodes un definēti telpisko metadatu nosacījumi, tomēr šie ieteikumi bieži vien tiek interpretēti dažādi, pazūd tulkojumā vai praksē netiek pielietoti dārgās un sarežģītās realizācijas dēļ. Šajā darbā tiek piedāvāta telpisko datu apstrādes problēmu risināšana datu bāzē un izmantojot atvērtos rīkus, kas nodrošina ekonomiski izdevīgāku un vienkāršāku telpisko datu uzturēšanu un izmantošanu. MongoDB un MySQL datubāzes salīdzinājums

Bakalaurā darbā ir izpētītas divu tipu datubāzes: NoSQL datubāze (MongoDB) un relāciju tipa datubāze (MySQL). Izmantojot lietotni Jmeter, pēc dažādiem kritērijiem tiek salīdzināta datubāze, kas ir izveidota ar MySQL un MongoDB datubāzes pārvaldības sistēmas palīdzību. Darbā ietvaros, teorētiskā daļā tiks apskatīts, kas vispār ir datubāzes, kādi ir datubāžu veidi, kā arī ar ko tie atšķiras. Praktiskā daļā, lai pietuvinātu rezultātu reālai dzīvei, tika projektēta datubāze reālam mērķim, kas tiks izmantota TelegramChatBot veidošanai. Schema-Backed Visual Queries over Europeana and Other Linked Data Resources

We describe and demonstrate the process of extracting a data-driven schema of the Europeana cultural heritage Linked data resource (with actual data classes, properties and their connections, and cardinalities) and application of the extracted schema to create a visual query environment over Europeana. The extracted schema information allows generating SHACL data shapes describing the actual data endpoint structure. The schema extraction process can be applied also to other data endpoints with a moderate data schema size and a potentially large data triple count, as e.g., British National Bibliography Linked data resource.

The presence of the Javelin sand boa in Sicily has recently been confirmed. Here the morphological characters and sexual dimorphism of the Sicilian population of Eryx jaculus are presented. Seven meristic and six metric characters in 96 specimens from Sicily were examined. The results show that tail length, snout-vent length, the distance between nostrils and the number of ventral and subcaudal scales are different between sexes. The characters found in the Sicilian population of the Javelin sand boa resemble those of the African population (ssp. jaculus) rather than the Eurasian population (ssp. turcicus), but biomolecular studies are necessary to understand its taxonomic identity.

ViziQuer: A Web-Based Tool for Visual Diagrammatic Queries Over RDF Data

We demonstrate the open source ViziQuer tool for web-based creation and execution of visual diagrammatic queries over RDF/SPARQL data. The tool supports the data instance level and statistics queries, providing visual counterparts for most of SPARQL 1.1 select query constructs, including aggregation and subqueries. A query environment can be created over a user-supplied SPARQL endpoint with known data schema (a data schema exploration service is available, as well). There are pre-defined demonstration query environments for a mini-university data set, a fragment of synthetic similar to reality hospital data set, and a variant of Linked Movie Database RDF data set.

Meat production from dairy breed lambs due to slaughter age and feeding plan based on wheat bran

This experiment aimed to investigate the possibility to increase the carcass weight of dairy breed lambs and produce moderate-fat meat by applying inexpensive feeding strategies based on restriction and through the use of a fibrous byproduct such as the durum wheat bran (DWB). Sixty-five 45-day-old lambs of the Valle del Belice breed, divided into 6 groups, were fed alfalfa hay supplemented with concentrate feeds including DWB at 0% or 20% (DWB0, DWB20), supplied ad libitum (L) or restricted at 75% (R), and slaughtered at 90 or 120 days of age. Durum wheat bran (DWB) is a by-product mostly used in feeding ruminants, contributing to decrease in the utilization of feeds suitable as foods for human consumption, thus improving the sustainability of livestock production. However, the potential benefits of DWB, due to its content in phenolic acids, mainly consisting of ferulic acid with antioxidant properties, have not been well clarified yet.
