High Optical Performance of Cyan‐Emissive CsPbBr3 Perovskite Quantum Dots Embedded in Molecular Organogels

2021

This is the pre-peer reviewed version of the following article: High Optical Performance of Cyan‐Emissive CsPbBr3 Perovskite Quantum Dots Embedded in Molecular Organogels, which has been published in final form at https://doi.org/10.1002/adom.202001786. This article may be used for non-commercial purposes in accordance with Wiley Terms and Conditions for Use of Self-Archived Versions." Perovskite quantum dots (PQDs) have fascinating optoelectronic properties, such as high photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) for a broad range of materials, and the possibility to obtain different bandgaps with the same material or halide combinations. Nevertheless, blue‐emissive materials generally present…

Signal Amplification in CsPbBr3 Nanoparticle-Doped Photonic Crystal Fibers

2019

Nanoparticles (NPs) have been proved for various photonic and optoelectronic applications with superior performance. Doping holey-fibers with colloidal NPs is an idea with precedents in the optical literature. For example, CdZnS/ZnS core-shell quantum dots (QDs) based lasers at visible wavelengths [1, 2]; and PbS QDs doped fiber amplifiers operating at telecommunication wavelengths [3]. In this paper we harness the potential of photonic crystal fibers (PCFs) doped with chemically synthesized CsPbBr 3 Colloidal-NPs [4] to demonstrate gain functionalities in all-fiber optical microdevices.

Fast, high-efficiency Germanium quantum dot photodetectors

2012

We present on high efficiency metal-insulator-semiconductor (MIS) photodetectors based on amorphous germanium quantum dots (QDs) embedded in a SiO2 matrix. High internal quantum efficiencies (IQE) were achieved across a broad wavelength range, with peak value reaching 700% at-10 V applied bias due to high internal photoconductive gain. The transient photoresponse behavior is also studied and it was found that the response time of the photodetector depends on the thickness of the QD layer. We also discuss the conduction mechanism which leads to the high photoconductive gain. © 2012 IEEE.

Organic-inorganic and all-inorganic lead halide nanoparticles [Invited]

2015

Organic-inorganic (hybrid) and all-inorganic lead halide perovskites, in particular APbX(3) where A is an organic cation (methylammonium or formamidinium) or cesium cation and X = Cl, Br, I, respectively, are of great interest in photovoltaic devices and as luminescent materials for light-emitting devices. It has recently been demonstrated that they can be prepared not only as nanoparticulate material by using the pores of mesoporous films, but also as colloidal nanoparticles, which exhibit enhanced optical properties with respect to the bulk material. We summarize here the methods reported for their preparation as well as their optical features. Experimental and theoretical studies on this…

Two-Color Single Hybrid Plasmonic Nanoemitters with Real Time Switchable Dominant Emission Wavelength

2015

International audience; We demonstrate two-color nanoemitters that enable the selection of the dominant emitting wavelength by varying the polarization of excitation light. The nanoemitters were fabricated via surface plasmon-triggered two-photon polymerization. By using two polymerizable solutions with different quantum dots, emitters of different colors can be positioned selectively in different orientations in the close vicinity of the metal nanoparticles. The dominant emission wavelength of the metal/polymer anisotropic hybrid nanoemitter thus can be selected by altering the incident polarization.

Multi-gigahertz repetition-rate-selectable passive harmonic mode locking of a fiber laser

2013

We demonstrate a passive harmonically mode-locked erbium-doped fiber laser that operates at selectable harmonics spanning from the 6th to the 928th, which corresponds to repetition rates ranging from 153 MHz to 22.2 GHz. The noteworthy laser output stability is attested by supermode suppression levels as large as 41 dB. The influence of a continuous wave background on harmonics stability is tested.

Optical and Vibrational Properties of Self-assembled GaN Quantum Dots

2008

Publisher Summary This chapter describes quantum dots (QDs) based on group III nitrides (III-N). They are expected to be the active medium of new optoelectronic devices operating at high powers and high temperatures. Besides the well-known advantages of their bulk and quantum well (QW) counterparts, III-N QDs provide strong confinement of carriers in nearly perfect zero-dimensional boxes. Quantum effects provide new degrees of freedom for the design of advanced devices. The chapter reviews the systems of dots that appear spontaneously during epitaxial growth without the need of artificial post-processing and designate them as self-assembled or self-organized QDs regardless of the mechanism …

<title>Probing the interactions of single CdSe quantum dots with their local environment</title>

2001

The fluorescence blinking of single CdSe/ZnS nanocrystals under different experimental conditions is investigated. We show that the blinking process is very sensitive to the particle environment even if the nanocrystals are covered with a few monolayers of ZnS. Especially the presence of oxygen leads to a shortening of the on-times but leaves the off-times almost unaffected. Therefore, oxygen which is adsorbed to the surface might act as a scavenger for photo generated electrons and leaves the particle in its (positively charged) dark state.
