Nucleon-to-delta axial transition form factors in relativistic baryon chiral perturbation theory

We report a theoretical study of the axial Nucleon to Delta(1232) ($N\to\Delta$) transition form factors up to one-loop order in relativistic baryon chiral perturbation theory. We adopt a formalism in which the $\Delta$ couplings obey the spin-3/2 gauge symmetry and, therefore, decouple the unphysical spin-1/2 fields. We compare the results with phenomenological form factors obtained from neutrino bubble chamber data and in quark models.

A quark model analysis of Orbital Angular Momentum

Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) twist-two parton distributions are studied. At the low energy, hadronic, scale we calculate them for the relativistic MIT bag model and for non-relativistic potential quark models. We reach the scale of the data by leading order evolution using the OPE and perturbative QCD. We confirm that the contribution of quarks and gluons OAM to the nucleon spin grows with $Q^2$, and it can be relevant at the experimental scale, even if it is negligible at the hadronic scale, irrespective of the model used. Further Comments on a Vanishing Singlet Axial Vector Charge

The recent suggestion of a vanishing flavor-singlet axial charge of nucleon due to a nontrivial vacuum structure is further amplified. A perturbative QCD discussion, applicable for the heavy quark contributions, relates it to the physics of the decoupling theorem. It is also shown that $g_{A}^{0}\simeq 0$ leads to a negative $\eta'$-meson-quark coupling, which has been found to be compatible with the chiral quark model phenomenology.

Generalized screened potential model

2014

A new non relativistic quark model to calculate the spectrum of heavy quark mesons is developed. The model is based on an interquark potential interaction that implicitly incorporates screening effects from meson-meson configurations. An analysis of the bottomonium spectrum shows the appearance of extra states as compared to conventional non screened potential models.

Mixing induced CP asymmetries in b → sγ decay and spontaneous CP violation

Abstract We analyze the mixing induced CP asymmetry in the decay b → sγ in the left-right symmetric model with spontaneous CP . This model possesses the useful property that all the CP -violating observables can be expressed in term of a single phase, a ratio of scalar vevs, quark masses and weak mixing angles but not on unconstrained quantities such as Yukawa coupling or additional phases. The calculated CP asymmetry can be much larger than in the Standard Model.

Analyzing the Boer-Mulders function within different quark models

A general formalism for the evaluation of time reversal odd parton distributions is applied here to calculate the Boer-Mulders function. The same formalism when applied to evaluate the Sivers function led to results which fulfill the Burkardt sum rule quite well. The calculation here has been performed for two different models of proton structure: a constituent quark model and the MIT bag model. In the latter case, important differences are found with respect to a previous evaluation in the same framework, a feature already encountered in the calculation of the Sivers function. Study of exclusive semileptonic and nonleptonic decays ofBc−in a nonrelativistic quark model

We present results for different observables measured in semileptonic and non-leptonic decays of the $B_c^-$ meson. The calculations have been done within the framework of a nonrelativistic constituent quark model. In order to check the sensitivity of all our results against the inter-quark interaction we use five different quark--quark potentials. We obtain form factors, decay widths and asymmetry parameters for semileptonic $B_c^-\to c\bar c$ and $B_c^-\to \bar B$ decays. In the limit of infinite heavy quark mass our model reproduces the constraints of heavy quark spin symmetry. A new state of hadronic matter at high density

We propose in this article that if the chemical potential exceeds a critical value in dense hadronic medium, a first-order phase transition to a new state of matter with Lorentz symmetry spontaneously broken (in addition to the explicit breaking) takes place. As a consequence, light vector mesons get excited as ``almost'' Goldstone bosons. Since the light vector mesons dominantly couple to photons, the presence of these new vector mesons could lead to an enhancement in the dilepton production from dense medium at an invariant mass lower than the free-space vector-meson mass. Quark model predictions for the SU(6)-breaking ratio of the proton momentum distributions

The ratio between the anomalous magnetic moments of proton and neutron has been recently parametrized by the ratio of proton momentum fractions $M_{2}^{q_{val}}$. This ratio is evaluated using different constituent quark models, starting from the CQM density distributions and calculating the next-to leading order distributions. We show that this momentum fractions $M_{2}^{q_{val}}$ ratio is a sensitive test for SU(6)-breaking effects and therefore it is useful to distinguish among different CQMs. We investigate also the possibility of getting constraints on the formulation of quark structure models.
