A New Academic Quality at Work Tool (AQ@workT) to Assess the Quality of Life at Work in the Italian Academic Context
2022
Refereed/Peer-reviewed The present study provides evidence for a valid and reliable tool, the Academic Quality at Work Tool (AQ@workT), to investigate the quality of life at work in academics within the Italian university sector. The AQ@workT was developed by the QoL@Work research team, namely a group of expert academics in the field of work and organizational psychology affiliated with the Italian Association of Psychologists. The tool is grounded in the job demands-resources model and its psychometric properties were assessed in three studies comprising a wide sample of lecturers, researchers, and professors: a pilot study (N = 120), a calibration study (N = 1084), and a validation study …
Test-retest reliability and validity of a web-based food-frequency questionnaire for adolescents aged 13-14 to be used in the Norwegian Mother and Ch…
2014
Background: The assessment of food intake is challenging and prone to errors; it is therefore important to consider the reliability and validity of the assessment methods. Objective: The aim of this study was to analyze the reproducibility and validity of a developed food-frequency questionnaire (FFQ) for use among adolescents.Design: In total, 58 students (aged 13–14) from four different schools in the southern part of Norway participated in the reproducibility study of filling out the FFQ 4 weeks apart. In addition, 93 students participated in the relative validity study where the FFQ was compared to 2×24-hour dietary recalls, while 92 students participated in the absolute validity study w…
Reliability and validation of the child eating behavior questionnaire in 3- to 6-year-old Spanish children
2022
IntroductionEating behavior is often established during the first years of life. Therefore, it is important to make a research on it to understand the relationships that children have with food and how this can contribute to prevent the development of childhood obesity. An appropriate assessment of eating behavior can be achieved using the “Child Eating Behavior Questionnaire” (CEBQ). This questionnaire has been validated in several populations and languages, but it has never been translated, adapted, and validated for Spanish children.AimTo evaluate the reliability and internal consistency of the CEBQ questionnaire, culturally adapted and translated into Spanish (Spain), in Spanish familie…
Finnish diabetes‐related quality of life questionnaire for children and adolescents: Reliability and validity
2020

Methods Participants were 215 youths with T1D (aged 10–17 years). They completed FDQL and comparison questionnaires (KINDL‐R and SDQ). Demographic and disease measures were collected from the participants’ medical records. The questionnaire’s psychometric properties were investigated. Construct validity was studied through principal component analysis using Promax rotation, reliability with alphas, and criterion and convergent validity with correlations between…
Gratitude Questionnaire–20 Items (G20): A Cross-Cultural, Psychometric and Crowdsourcing Analysis
2020
The use in psychology of crowdsourcing platforms as a method of data collection has been increasing in popularity because of its relative ease and versatility. Our goal is to adapt the Gratitude Questionnaire–20 Items (G20) to the English language by using data collected through a crowdsourcing platform. The G20 is a comprehensive instrument that takes in consideration the different basic processes of gratitude and assesses the construct’s cognitive, evaluative, emotional, and behavioral processes. We test the psychometric properties of the English version of the G20 with a Prolific (ProA) user sample. We assess the adequacy of the G20 for the crowdsourcing population in its English version…
What I say is not necessary what I do: pulses consumption in French adults
2018
International audience; The consumption of pulses in the human diet is considered to have several advantages: from a nutritional point of view, pulses are rich in dietary fibers, complex carbohydrate, minerals/vitamins and an important source of vegetal proteins. They are considered essential to insure food security and support environmental sustainability. Despite these benefits, the consumption of pulses in France has declined over the past decades, dropping from 7.2 kg in 1920 to 1.7 kg/ person per year in 2016. The aim of this study is to understand the representation of pulses among French non-vegetarian consumers, using a direct method (questionnaire) and an indirect method (scenario …

The intervention group participated in 48 supervised aquatic resistance training sessions over 4 months while the control group maintained their usual l…
Video games in language learning : the way to the next level of language competence?
2014
Vaikka videopelit ilmiönä ovat olleet osa kulttuuriamme jo useiden vuosikymmenten ajan, niihin liittyvää tutkimusta on tehty varsin vähän. Lisäksi suurin osa olemassa olevasta, oppimiseen liittyvästä tutkimuksesta keskittyy teoriaan käytännön ilmiöiden tutkimisen sijaan. Varsinkin kielten oppimista käsittelevä tutkimus on vielä puutteellista. Videopelit mediana ovat kehittyneet paljon erityisesti 2000-luvulla ja niiden mahdollisuudet opetuksessa yleisesti tulisi kuitenkin selvittää. Tämän tutkielman lähtökohtana on tutkia yläkouluoppilaiden videopelaamisen määrän vaikutusta heidän englannin kielen taitoonsa, sekä eroja eri videopelityyppien pelaajien englannin taidossa. Tutkielmassa kielita…

Assessment of Occupational Health and Job Satisfaction in Workers with Intellectual Disability: A Job Demands–Resources Perspective
2021
In the contexts where people with intellectual disability work, there are factors that determine their job satisfaction. The objective of this study was to test the adequacy of the central assumptions of the Job Demands–Resources (JD-R) theory in workers with intellectual disability employed in different work alternatives. Data from 362 workers in sheltered workshops and 192 workers in supported employment were utilized. The model was contrasted using a structural equation model and a multi-group analysis. The results supported the suitability of the model and confirmed that job demands and job resources evoke two relatively independent processes such as health impairment and motivational p…
