Deliberation favours social efficiency by making people disregard their relative shares: evidence from USA and India

Groups make decisions on both the production and the distribution of resources. These decisions typically involve a tension between increasing the total level of group resources (i.e. social efficiency) and distributing these resources among group members (i.e. individuals' relative shares). This is the case because the redistribution process may destroy part of the resources, thus resulting in socially inefficient allocations. Here we apply a dual-process approach to understand the cognitive underpinnings of this fundamental tension. Individuals in a fish population differ in key life-history traits such as growth rate and body size. This raises the question of whether such traits cluster along a fast-slow growth continuum according to a pace-of-life syndrome (POLS). Fish species like salmonids may develop a bimodal size distribution, providing an opportunity to study the relationships between individual growth and behavioural responsiveness. Le but de cette etude etait d’analyser la participation et les performances sur marathon des athletes handisports en fauteuils roulants classiques (WC) et en fauteuils avec pedalage des bras ou Handbike (HC). L’âge et les performances chronometriques de tous les athletes ayant participe au marathon de New-York, dans les categories WC et HC, ont ete analyses entre 1999 et 2010. Some studies indicate that university programs for older adults can have a positive impact on the participants perceptions of social support and health. However, those studies fail to evaluate these variables with standardized measurement instruments and control groups, both within and outside the program. Using an online survey including three open-ended questions, this study explored parents' experiences regarding changes in their family's eating behaviors during this lockdown.
