Recording Britain : John Piper et le patrimoine architectural anglais dans les années 1940

This article is about the artist John Piper's participation in one of the programmes for the preservation of national heritage that were organised during the Second World War. It focuses on Piper's paintings and texts – notably the articles that he contributed to the Architectural Review – in order to illustrate the aesthetic controversy between modernism and tradition, abstraction and naturalism, which underpins the ambivalence of reconstruction.

Drawing on the contributions of some of the most recent and relevant studies on neuroethics and moral neuroeducation, this paper undertakes an analysis of compassion. In order to focus on the results of this neuroscientific research a reductionist naturalist framework is set aside in order to embrace the broader outlook of a moral neuroeducation that, firstly, refuses to reduce its normative character to the human capacity for evolutionary adaptation; and, secondly, seeks to locate within the brain the neuronal foundations for the development of a capacity for compassion towards those of one’s own community, and also those from outside it. Purpose The purpose of this paper seeks to develop a motivation-based complementary framework for temporally dynamic user preferences to facilitate optimal timing in web personalisation. It also aims to highlight the benefits of considering user motivation when addressing issues in temporal dynamics. This chapter reviews autonomy and agency as related to second language (L2) learner and teacher psychology. It discusses the significance of the two constructs in understanding the personal, yet socially mediated nature of L2 learning and teaching processes. El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo examinar el poder predictivo de variables del sistema motivacional sobre las habilidades iniciales de lectura y matemáticas en una muestra de niños de Educación Infantil. Participaron 209 preescolares (5-6 años) y sus maestros. Se evaluaron las  habilidades matemáticas de conteo, conocimiento de los números, cálculo y resolución de problemas. Korostunut häpeän tunne liittyy olennaisesti niin mielenterveysongelmiin kuin psykiatriseen hoitotyöhön. Erityisesti mielisairaalaan joutuminen on monelle häpeällinen kokemus, josta on vaikeaa puhua.
