Artikkelissa tulkitaan muistia ja muistamista käsittelevää kerrontaa kirjailija Raija Siekkisen novellissa Vieras maa (1999). Kaunokirjallista tekstiä analysoidaan kulttuurisesta näkökulmasta käsin yhdistämällä monitieteellisesti kirjallisuudentutkimusta ja muistintutkimusta. Muisti ja muistaminen esiintyvät aiheina koko Siekkisen lyhytproosatuotannossa. Artikkelissa tarkastellaan normatiivisen, oikeushistoriallisen näkökulman kautta lapsen osallisuutta ja sen institutionalistista muutosta suomalaisessa adoptiojärjestelmässä. Keskeinen kysymys on, miten ja miksi lapsen asema osallistuvana subjektina on historiallisesti määritelty ja muuttunut adoptiota ja lastensuojelua koskevassa lainsäädännössä. Osallisuuden muutoksia lainsäädännössä tarkastellaan suhteessa kansainvälisessä adoptiojärjestelmässä ja lapsen oikeusasemassa 1920 -luvulta vuoteen 2018 tapahtuneisiin muutoksiin. Artikkelissa tarkastellaan taikuusoikeudenkäyntien kautta hautausmailla tehtyjä taikoja Pohjois-Pohjanmaalla ja Kainuussa 1700-luvun lopulla. Hautausmailla tehdyt taiat ovat uusi piirre verrattuna 1500- ja 1600-lukujen suomalaisiin noituus- ja taikuusoikeudenkäynteihin. Artikkelissa tarkastellaan erityisesti taikoja, joita tehtiin sairauksien parantamiseksi ja varastettujen esineiden palauttamiseksi omistajalleen. Hautausmaiden taikuutta käsitellään niin kansanomaisen ajattelun – kuten vainajiin, kuolemaan ja pyhään liittyvien käsitysten – kuin virallisen esivallan käsitysten ja normien kautta. This article intends to read Fanon, a Novel, written in 2008 by John Edgar Wideman, as an attempt to decolonize the archive, more specifically the Fanonian archive. Rather than trying to exhume the legacy of the Martiniquan thinker, the novel proposes to set Fanon’s thought in motion, allowing it to unfold before the reader’s eyes. Thus summoned up, the archive assumes an eminently political role. It aims to provide insights into the relationship between cultural knowledge and professionals’ management of BELF interactions.
