Chewing simulation: a way to understand the relationships between mastication, food breakdown and flavour release

International audience; Understanding in-mouth mechanisms is necessary to understand flavour release and perception phenomena. To overcome the limitations of in-vivo flavour release measurements, we developed a chewing simulator that faithfully reproduced many mouth functions. Using brittle foods, we showed that in-vitro food breakdown was very comparable to that obtained in-vivo. We also studied on model cheeses in-vitro flavour release by connecting on-line the chewing simulator to APCI-MS. Preliminary results are discussed.

Sulla scorta del libro di Claude Calame intitolato "Prometeo genetista" e di cui l'A. ha curato parte della traduzione italiana, viene indagata l'ampia gamma di significati propri del termine greco "techne" e della corrispondente radice. Redzes balstītu cilvēka žestu atpazīšana ir problēma, kura sevī iekļauj kadru virknes klasi- ficēšanu un noteiktā žesta atrašanu. Žestu atpazīšanai ir vairāki pielietojumi tādās jomās kā video novērošanā, video apstrādē, cilvēka - datora mijiedarbībā un citās. Darbā tiek izskatīti tagadējie sasniegumi žestu atpazīšanā, pētītas pieejamās datu kopas un izveidotas jaunas datu kopas uz UTD-MHAD [9] uzņemtiem videoklipiem. Stresa noturība studentiem no dažādām studiju programmām

Stress ir viena no galvenajām problēmām ar ko jāsastopas studentiem. Veiktajā pētījumā galvenais uzdevums bija noskaidrot stresa noturības līmeņa atšķirības dažādu mācību programmu studentiem. Pētījums tika veikts starp trīs Latvijas Universitātes studiju programmu studentiem (N = 95), no kuriem 32 (33,6% ) apguva psiholoģiju, 33 (34,7% ) interjera dizaina un 30 ( 31,5% ) vadības zinību studiju programmas. Pētījums tika veikts interneta vidē. Datu vākšanai tika izmantota Latvijas Personības aptaujas ( LPAv-3) Nenoturības pret stresu apakšskala (Perepjolkina ,2014). Rezultāti parādīja, ka būtiskas atšķirības stresa noturības līmeņa rādītajos starp dažādu studiju programmu studentiem nepastāv.

Modulations of corticospinal excitability following rapid ankle dorsiflexion in skill- and endurance-trained athletes

Abstract Purpose Long-term sports training, such as skill and endurance training, leads to specific neuroplasticity. However, it remains unclear if muscle stretch-induced proprioceptive feedback influences corticospinal facilitation/inhibition differently between skill- and endurance-trained athletes. Crystal structure and Hirshfeld surface analysis of [N(CH3)4][2,2′-Fe(1,7-closo-C2B9H11)2]

Abstract This work investigates the meta -ferrabis(dicarbollide) anion that was isolated as salt of tetramethylammonium. The structure of the obtained crystal consisted of discrete [2,2′-Fe(1,7- closo -C 2 B 9 H 11 ) 2 ] − anions and disordered [N(CH 3 ) 4 ] + cations. The anion had a considerable chemical stability ensured by ionic and Van der Waals interactions. Thus, Hirshfeld surfaces and fingerprint plot were used to visualize, explore, and quantify intermolecular interactions in the crystal lattice of the title compound. This investigation proved that close contacts were dominated by H⋯H interactions.

Working from home during the pandemic: attitude change and organization internal communication

Bakalaura darba mērķis ir noskaidrot, kādas ir būtiskākās izmaiņas organizāciju iekšējā komunikācijā, pārejot no darba klātienē uz attālināto darbu no mājām COVID-19 pandēmijas dēļ, kā arī kā ir mainījušās darbinieku attieksmes pret strādāšanu no mājām. Bakalaura darba teorētisko veidu attieksmes teorijas, organizāciju iekšējā komunikācija un tās aspekti, kā arī teorija par mirkļbirkām un par līdzdalības kultūru. Bakalaura darbā tika izmantotas trīs pētniecības metodes – kvalitatīvā kontentanalīze, aptauja un daļēji strukturētas intervijas. Rezultātā tika noskaidrots, ka pārsvarā indivīdi savu attieksmi parāda pozitīvi sociālajā medijā Instagram, organizāciju iekšējās komunikācijas pārmaiņa…
