Structural DNA nanotechnology provides a viable route for building from the bottom-up using DNA as construction material. The most common DNA nanofabrication technique is called DNA origami, and it allows high-throughput synthesis of accurate and highly versatile structures with nanometer-level precision. Here, it is shown how the spatial information of DNA origami can be transferred to metallic nanostructures by combining the bottom-up DNA origami with the conventionally used top-down lithography approaches. 194317; With the aim of temperature diagnostic, femtosecond time-resolved CARS (coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy) is applied to probe H2 in H2-N2 mixtures. In a first part, a Lorentzian profile is used to model the femtosecond CARS response. A difference between the experimental broadening and the expected one is observed in the collision regime. The observed broadening increases strongly in an inhomogeneous way with respect to the perturber concentration. This is of considerable importance for temperature measurements. Investigation of the Na2O/Ag2O ratio on the synthesis conditions and properties of the 80TeO2–10ZnO–[(10−x)Na2O–xAg2O] glasses

International audience; Properties of the tellurite glasses 80TeO2–10ZnO–[(10−x)Na2O–xAg2O] are investigated as a function of the substitution ratio x between Na2O and Ag2O. One observe that the variation of glass transition temperature decreases monotonously with x and that surface crystallization mechanism is favored. The assignment of the Raman bands and their relation with the underlying glass structure is discussed. While both Na2O and Ag2O oxides act as glass network modifiers, their progressive equimolar substitution does not lead to a meaningful evolution in the structure of the TZ[Na10-xAgx] glass. Binary materials have been prepared by impregnation of H 3 PW 12 O 40 , H 3 PMo 12 O 40 and H 4 SiW 12 O 40 , on TiO 2 Evonik P25. Properties of HO2• radicals induced by γ-ray irradiation in silica nanoparticles

Abstract We report an experimental investigation on the effects of γ -ray irradiation in several types of silica nanoparticles previously loaded with O 2 molecules. They differ in specific surface and average diameter. By electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) measurements we observe the generation of about 10 18 HO 2 • /cm 3 interstitial radicals. These radicals are induced by reaction of interstitial O 2 molecules with radiolytic H atoms, as previously suggested for O 2 -loaded bulk a-SiO 2 samples. Neuroglobin (Ngb) is a newly discovered oxygen-binding heme protein that is primarily expressed in the brain of humans and other vertebrates. To characterize the structure/function relationships of this new heme protein, we have used resonance Raman spectroscopy to determine the structure of the heme environment in Ngb from mice. In the Fe2+CO complex, two conformations of the Fe–CO unit are present, one of which arises from an open conformation of the heme pocket in which the CO is not interacting with any nearby residue, and the other arises from a closed conformation where a positively charged residue near the CO group stabilizes the complex. International audience; The perovskite BaCe(0.9−x)ZrxY0.1O(3−ı) is prepared by solid-state reaction at 1400 ◦C and sintering at 1700 ◦C. It is characterised using X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy and electrical measurements. A distortion fromthe cubic structure at roomtemperature is noticeable in the Raman spectra for 0.2 < x < 0.8, but not in the X-ray diffraction patterns. This work points out the rhombohedral nature of this distortion. Phase transitions are studied up to 600 ◦C. This work reports the high-pressure and high-temperature (HP-HT) synthesis of pure rhombohedral (corundum-type) phase of indium oxide (In2O3) from its most stable polymorph, cubic bixbyite-type In2O3, using a multianvil press. Structural and vibrational properties of corundum-type In2O3 (rh-In2O3) have been characterized by means of angle-dispersive powder X-ray diffraction and Raman scattering measurements at high pressures which have been compared to structural and lattice dynamics ab initio calculations. Application of micro Raman spectroscopy to industrial FC membranes

Raman spectra of as-received and protonated membranes (Nafion® NRE-212, Fumapem® F-14100 and Fumasep® FAA) were measured with He-Cd and Ar laser. For the first time the Raman and IR spectra are reported of Fumasep membranes. Most of peaks in vibration spectra active in Raman and IR of membranes are interpreted with C-F, C-S, C-O-C, SO3, C-C bonds. The vibration region connected with protons and H-O bond in both types of membranes is found in Raman and IR spectra.
