La contribution de la spiritualité à la qualité de vie au travail

National audience; L’objectif de ce papier consiste à comprendre la manière dont la spiritualité permet de développer la qualité de vie au travail. Pour atteindre notre objectif, une étude a été effectuée auprès de 16 salariés de métiers assez distincts. Le choix des interviewés s’est fait sur la base du volontariat. Après avoir exposé les notions de qualité de vie au travail et de spiritualité, l’article pré-sente les répondants, la méthodologie et la technique de collecte des données, de même que les résultats. Molecular Basis of DNA Photodimerization: Intrinsic Production of Cyclobutane Cytosine Dimers

Based on CASPT2 results, the present contribution establishes for the first time that cytosine photodimer formation (CC) is mediated along the triplet and singlet manifold by a singlet-triplet crossing, (T1/S0)X, and by a conical intersection, (S1/S0)CI, respectively. The former can be accessed in a barrierless way from a great variety of photochemical avenues and exhibits a covalent single bond between the ethene C6-C6' carbon atoms of each monomer. Quaternary relaxations in sol-gel encapsulated hemoglobin studied via NIR and UV spectroscopy.

In this work, we study the kinetics of the R --T transition in hemoglobin using a combination of near-infrared and near-ultraviolet spectroscopy. We use a sol-gel encapsulation protocol to decelerate the conformational transitions and to avoid spectral perturbations arising from ligand migration and recombination. We monitor two spectroscopic markers: band III in the near-IR, which is a fine probe of the heme pocket conformation, and the tryptophan band in the near-UV, which probes the formation of the Trpbeta37-Aspalpha94 hydrogen bond, characteristic of the T structure, at the critical alpha1beta2 subunit interface. A theoretical approach of the propagation through geometrical constraints in cardiac tissue

International audience; The behaviour of impulse propagation in the presence of non-excitable scars and boundaries is a complex phenomenon and induces pathological consequences in cardiac tissue. In this article, a geometrical con¯guration is considered so that cardiac waves propagate through a thin strand, which is connected to a large mass of cells. At this interface, waves can slow down or even be blocked depending on the width of the strand. We present an analytical approach leading to determine the blockade condition, by introducing planar travelling wavefront and circular stationary wave. Eventually, the in°uence of the tissue geometry is examined on the impulse propagation velocity.

Chromatographic evaluation of the toxicity in fish of pesticides

Abstract Ecotoxicity assessment is essential before placing new chemical substances on the market. An investigation of the use of the chromatographic retention (log k) in biopartitioning micellar chromatography (BMC) as an in vitro approach to evaluate the toxicity in fish of pesticides (acute toxicity levels as pLC50) is proposed. A heterogeneous data set of 85 pesticides from six chemical families with available experimental fish toxicity data (ECOTOX database from U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)) was used. Quantum correlations beyond entanglement in a classical-channel model of gravity

A direct quantization of the Newtonian interaction between two masses is known to establish entanglement, which if detected would witness the quantum nature of the gravitational field. Gravitational interaction is yet compatible also with gravitational decoherence models relying on classical channels, hence unable to create entanglement. Here, we show in paradigmatic cases that, despite the absence of entanglement, a classical-channel model of gravity can still establish quantum correlations in the form of quantum discord between two masses. Multiple polylogarithms with algebraic arguments and the two-loop EW-QCD Drell-Yan master integrals

We consider Feynman integrals with algebraic leading singularities and total differentials in $\epsilon\,\mathrm{d}\ln$ form. We show for the first time that it is possible to evaluate integrals with singularities involving unrationalizable roots in terms of conventional multiple polylogarithms, by either parametric integration or matching the symbol. As our main application, we evaluate the two-loop master integrals relevant to the $\alpha \alpha_s$ corrections to Drell-Yan lepton pair production at hadron colliders. We optimize our functional basis to allow for fast and stable numerical evaluations in the physical region of phase space.

A simple formula for the infrared singular part of the integrand of one-loop QCD amplitudes

We show that a well-known simple formula for the explicit infrared poles of one-loop QCD amplitudes has a corresponding simple counterpart in unintegrated form. The unintegrated formula approximates the integrand of one-loop QCD amplitudes in all soft and collinear singular regions. It thus defines a local counter-term for the infrared singularities and can be used as an ingredient for the numerical calculation of one-loop amplitudes.

Infrared Singularities and Soft Gluon Resummation with Massive Partons

Infrared divergences of QCD scattering amplitudes can be derived from an anomalous dimension matrix, which is also an essential ingredient for the resummation of large logarithms due to soft gluon emissions. We report a recent analytical calculation of the anomalous dimension matrix with both massless and massive partons at two-loop level, which describes the two-loop infrared singularities of any scattering amplitudes with an arbitrary number of massless and massive partons, and also enables soft gluon resummation at next-to-next-to-leading-logarithmic order.
