Stable and long-time operation of a soft x-ray laser for user applications experiments

LASERIX is a high-power laser facility leading to High-repetition-rate XUV laser pumped by Titanium:Sapphire laser. The aim of this laser facility is to offer Soft XRLs in the 30-7 nm range and auxiliary IR beam that could also be used to produce synchronized XUV sources. This experimental configuration highly enhances the scientific opportunities of the facility, giving thus the opportunity to realize both X-ray laser experiments and more generally pump/probe experiments, mixing IR and XUV sources. In this contribution, the main results concerning both the development of XUV sources(X-Ray lasers and HHG sources) and their use for applications are presented.

Working memory is an essential component of thought that is highly involved in learning and academic achievement. However, it is rarely studied in preschoolers, mainly because of a lack of suitable paradigms. Therefore, this thesis investigated the functioning of working memory in children between 2 and 6 years. For this purpose, two original paradigms were used. They were designed to be close to game situations which should help young children to focus their attention on the task. Firstly it was shown that the recall performance decreased over time, even in the absence of an interfering task. Study of the thermal decomposition of bromazepan complexes with Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II)

Abstract The thermal behaviour of complexes of bromazepan with Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) was studied by thermogravimetry (TG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA). The complexes decompose in two steps: dehydration and decomposition. A correlation between the dehydration temperatures of MB2Xn and the coordinating ability of X is observed.
Electrochemical Quartz Crystal Microbalance Study of Copper Electrochemical Reaction in Acid Medium Containing Chlorides

Copper electrodissolution and electrodeposition were studied by means of gravimetric quartz crystal microbalance and electric cyclic voltammetry combined measurements. Relevant information on the mechanism of these electrochemical processes is provided by the analysis of experimental data and particularly of the mass change per charge unit. The copper electrodeposition and electrodissolution take place by means of two consecutive monoelectronic transfers where the anion participation in the reaction mechanism is specified. Besides, it is proved that the presence of molecular oxygen in the solution contributes to the formation of a passive layer on the surface of the metallic copper deposit.
Filtration of Nordic recirculating aquaculture system wastewater : Effects on microalgal growth, nutrient removal, and nutritional value

Microalgal bioremediation of recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) wastewater represents an alternative for wastewater treatment with the potential to generate valuable biomass. This study evaluated the effects of removing biological contamination and suspended solids from Nordic area RAS wastewater through filtration with 0.45 μm filters on the performance and nutritional value of microalgae. All three tested green microalgae (Haematococcus pluvialis, Monoraphidium griffithii, and Selenastrum sp.) were able to grow in raw (unfiltered) and filtered RAS wastewater.
