“Autographic wood-engraving: Modernist DIY“

International audience; This paper focuses on the description of modernist wood engraving as a humble form of art in the manuals published by John Farleigh, Clare Leighton and Iain Macnab between 1932 and 1940. As a specific form of artistic encounter with a medium, autographic wood engraving relied on the heritage of the Arts and Crafts’ ethics of making as well as on the modernist aesthetics of carving. This paper aims to show that the efficacy of humbleness as an artistic stance allowed wood engraving to straddle the provinces of art, craft and design at a time when the function of artistic skill and handmaking was being displaced.

It is known that craving can be elicited by various triggers, such as visual and auditory cues.Less is known about music as a trigger for craving. Only recently the interest towards this topic has somewhat increased. Two quantitative studies showed that music can increase and evoke craving. Additionally, some music therapists described experiences of their clients with music and craving. Inscrit durablement dans l’esprit des fidèles, le signe de la croix imprimée sur un ciel étoilé dans deux décors en mosaïques situés à Naples et à Ravenne (Ve-VIe siècle) invite à réfléchir sur une matérialité spiritualisée. Signum du Christ représenté perpétuellement dans l’église, la Croix enclenche le glissement du visible vers l’invisible, du matériel vers l’immatériel, du charnel vers le spirituel. Darba pašefektivitātes saistība ar personības iezīmēm

Šī pētījuma ietvaros tika izvirzīta hipotēze par to ka darba pašefektivitātei ir saistība ar Lielā piecinieka personības iezīmēm ekstraversiju, apzinīgumu un neirotismu. Pētījumā piedalījās 120 respondenti. Hipotēze tika pārbaudīta izmantojot izmantotas divas aptaujas: “Lielo Piecinieku” (Big Five Invetory, BFI, BFI, Benet – Martinez & John, 1998) un Darba pašefektivitātes skalu (Occupational self-efficacy scale; Schyns & von Collani, 2002). Pētījuma mērķis bija salīdzināt kravas auto vadītāju uzvedību uz ceļa saistībā ar darba un atpūtas laika ievērošanu. Pētījuma izlases sastāvēja no 111 vīriešiem, kuri strādā par kravas auto šoferiem un izmanto kravas automašīnu darba vajadzībām, vecumā no 24 līdz 66 gadiem, vidējais vecums 45,43 gadi. Pētījuma dalībniekiem tika piedāvāts aizpildīt autovadītāju uzvedības aptauju (Drivers Behaviour Questionnaire, DBQ; Reason, Manstead, Stradling, Baxter, & Campbell, 1990), adaptāciju latviešu valodā veikuši V.
