Novel high-performance QCA Fredkin gate and designing scalable QCA binary to gray and vice versa
2022
AbstractIn the design of digital logic circuits, QCA technology is an excellent alternative to CMOS technology. Its advantages over CMOS include low power consumption, fast circuit switching, and nanoscale design. Circuits that convert data between different formats are code converters. Code converters have an essential role in high-performance computing and signal processing. In this paper, first, we proposed a novel QCA structure for the quantum reversible Fredkin gate. Second, we proposed 4-bit and 8-bit QCA binary-to-gray converter and vice versa. For the second proposal, both reversible and irreversible structures are suggested. The proposed structures are scalable up to N bits. To cha…
Lattice quantum hadrodynamics on a CRAY Y-MP
1992
Quantum corrections to the mean-field equation of state for nuclear matter are estimated in a lattice simulation of quantum hadrodynamics on a CRAY Y-MP. In contrast with lattice quantum chromodynamics, where coordinate space methods are the standard, the calculations are carried out in momentum space and on nonhypercubic (irregular) lattices. The quantum corrections to the known, mean-field equation of state were found to be considerable. The time frame of the project and the large computational needs of the program required the use of powerful supercomputers, like the CRAY Y-MP, which are capable of performing at a very high computing speed by using both vector and parallel hardware, the …
HAWK 2.0: A Monte Carlo program for Higgs production in vector-boson fusion and Higgs strahlung at hadron colliders
2014
The Monte Carlo integrator HAWK provides precision predictions for Higgs production at hadron colliders in vector-boson fusion and Higgs strahlung, i.e. in production processes where the Higgs boson is Attached to WeaK bosons. The fully differential predictions include the full QCD and electroweak next-to-leading-order corrections. Results are computed as integrated cross sections and as binned distributions for important hadron-collider observables.
Two-dimensional model colloids and nano wires: phase transitions, effects of external potentials and quantum effects
2005
Abstract Quantum effects, structures and phase transitions in Nano-systems have been analyzed. An overview is given on the results of our computations on structural and elastic properties of model colloids, on phase transitions of model colloids in external fields, and on structural and electronic properties of stretched atomic wires.
Dynamical twisted mass fermions with light quarks: simulation and analysis details
2008
In a recent paper [hep-lat/0701012] we presented precise lattice QCD results of our European Twisted Mass Collaboration (ETMC). They were obtained by employing two mass-degenerate flavours of twisted mass fermions at maximal twist. In the present paper we give details on our simulations and the computation of physical observables. In particular, we discuss the problem of tuning to maximal twist, the techniques we have used to compute correlators and error estimates. In addition, we provide more information on the algorithm used, the autocorrelation times and scale determination, the evaluation of disconnected contributions and the description of our data by means of chiral perturbation theo…
Quark Contraction Tool -- QCT
2016
We present a Mathematica package for the calculation of Wick contractions in quantum field theories - QCT. Furthermore the package aims at automatically generating code for the calculation of physical matrix elements, suitable for numerical evaluation in a C++ program. To that end commonly used algebraic manipulations for the calculation of matrix elements in lattice QCD are implemented.
Implementation of Universal Digital Architecture using 3D-NoC for Mobile Terminal
2014
International Conference on Control, Decision and Information Technologies (CoDIT), Ecole Natl Ingenieurs Metz, Metz, FRANCE, NOV 03-05, 2014; International audience; The need to integrate multiple wireless communication protocols into a single low-cost flexible hardware platform is prompted by the increasing number of emerging communication protocols and applications in modern embedded systems. So the current challenge is to design of new digital architectures, in addition to its ability to take over of many functions. In this paper we have identified similarities between the despreader units in Rake receiver and the processor element in FFT-SDF (Fast Fourier Transform-Single path Delay Fe…
Design and test of a prototype silicon detector module for ATLAS Semiconductor Tracker endcaps
2005
The ATLAS Semiconductor Tracker (SCT) will be a central part of the tracking system of the ATLAS experiment. The SCT consists of four concentric barrels of silicon detectors as well as two silicon endcap detectors formed by nine disks each. The layout of the forward silicon detector module presented in this paper is based on the approved layout of the silicon detectors of the SCT, their geometry and arrangement in disks, but uses otherwise components identical to the barrel modules of the SCT. The module layout is optimized for excellent thermal management and electrical performance, while keeping the assembly simple and adequate for a large scale module production. This paper summarizes th…
Embodied sound design
2018
Abstract Embodied sound design is a process of sound creation that involves the designer’s vocal apparatus and gestures. The possibilities of vocal sketching were investigated by means of an art installation. An artist–designer interpreted several vocal self-portraits and rendered the corresponding synthetic sketches by using physics-based and concatenative sound synthesis. Both synthesis techniques afforded a broad range of artificial sound objects, from concrete to abstract, all derived from natural vocalisations. The vocal-to-synthetic transformation process was then automated in SEeD, a tool allowing to set and play interactively with physics- or corpus-based sound models. The voice-dri…
Generation of Hardware/Software systems based on CAL dataflow description
2011
International audience; This paper presents a new development of rapid prototyping tools for system design based on data-flow specifications. In this context, the efficiency of tools for the automatic translation from the data-flow programs to C and/or HDL are assessed by means of two design cases. The paper also introduces the new concept of the automatic synthesis of interfaces. Such generic interfaces are implemented by using an embedded microprocessor, which can support a large variety of interfaces already available as native IP libraries in the case of FPGA. The two design cases described here have been developed, tested and validated on different implementation platforms. The results…
