Functional linear models for the analysis of similarity of waveforms

In seismology methods based on waveform similarity analysis are adopted to identify sequences of events characterized by similar fault mechanism and prop- agation pattern. Seismic waves can be considered as spatially interdependent three dimensional curves depending on time and the waveform similarity analysis can be configured as a functional clustering approach, on the basis of which the member- ship is assessed by the shape of the temporal patterns. Primitives extraction based on structured-light images

International audience; Geometric attributes such as curvature or surface orientation are additional information of the 3D points obtained after the scanning of an object. In the classic 3D chain, characterized by a sequential structure, these information are determined from the dense point cloud (from a 3D scanner). Then, they are used to reduce the amount of information and allows to obtain a simplified model. In this paper, we investigate the possibility to extract some geometric attributes, directly from 2D images obtained by the camera of a structured-light system.

In Intraoperative Electron Radiation Therapy (IOERT), the lack of specific planning tools limits its applicability, the need for accurate dosimetry estimation and application during the therapy being the most critical. Recently, some works have been presented that try to overcome some of the limitations for establishing planning tools, though still an accurate guidance system that tracks, in real-time, the applicator and the patient is needed. Background: Periodical cicadas (Magicicada spp.) have a life cycle that ends with the entire underground nymph population exhibiting a synchronized mass emergence to mate above ground. Previous studies have hypothesized that the periodical cicadas evolved from non-periodical cicadas by switching from a life-cycle length determined by body size to one determined by age. The article focuses on the analysis of the understanding of “formula of happiness” of Jānis Pliekšāns (Rainis), lawyer, philosopher and the most famous Latvian poet. Rainis’ works were created at the end of the 19th – beginning of the 20th centuries. This is the time when the legal consciousness of the Latvian State was evolving and the Republic of Latvia was proclaimed (1918). Rainis’ views in the philosophy of law were significantly influenced by the theory of Marxism and the fight for rights described by Rudolf von Ihering. Il capitolo tratta del rendiconto finanziario. La struttura è quella presentata dal principio OIC 10. Con l’ausilio di un esempio sono individuate le fonti documentali e definite le procedure per la costruzione del documento riepilogativo contabile. È evidenziato il potenziale informativo del documento, dal quale possono trarsi determinazioni quantitative utili alla costruzione di indicatori di performance aziendali. Il capitolo ha quindi per obiettivi di apprendimento la conoscenza della struttura e dell’articolazione del rendiconto finanziario, le sue modalità di costruzione e la capacità di lettura del documento per lo svolgimento di analisi di performance aziendali.

The students’ academic failure and the delay in obtaining their final degree are a significant issue for the Italian universities and their shareholders. Based on indicators proposed by the Italian Ministry of University, the Italian universities are awarded a financial incentive if they reduce the students’ attrition and failure. In this paper we analyze the students’ careers performance using: 1) aggregate data; 2) individual data. The first compares the performances of the Italian universities using the measures and the indicators proposed by the Ministry. Maģistra darba “Augstākās izglītības internacionalizācija Latvijas Universitātē un tās ietekme uz studentu studiju pieredzi” aktualitāti pamato pieaugošā augstākās izglītības internacionalizācija, kas tiešā veidā ietekmē studentu studiju pieredzi. Lai noskaidrotu studentu attieksmi pret kopīgu studiju īstenošanu Latvijas un ārvalstu studentiem, tika veikta Latvijas Universitātes Latvijas un apmaiņas studentu no ārvalstīm anketēšana, kā rezultātā tika iegūti un analizēti 444 Latvijas Universitātē studējošo Latvijas studentu un 51 ārvalstu studentu aptauju dati.
