Current caselaw discrepancies in the protection of national symbols and state representatives between the European Court of Human Rights and Spanish …
2021
Despite the general consensus about freedom of expression being a basic fundamental right on every democratic society, the debate about its boundaries has never found such a pacific agreement. Thus, the Spanish Penal Code has several articles that punish its abuse that are highly contested, like articles 490.3 and 543 that penalize the offenses directed towards national symbols or State representatives. This being so, this article examines the controversy generated by the application of this articles through the analysis of two judgements issued by the European Court of Human Rights against Spain, and a third one issued by the Spanish Constitutional Court that could follow the same path. Th…
Volatile oil content of Scots Pine needles (Pinus sylvestris L.)
2016
Badania dotyczą zmienności zawartości olejku eterycznego w igliwiu sosny zwyczajnej w zależności od wieku drzew, garnituru igieł oraz jego usytuowania w koronie. Materiał do badań stanowiło igliwie zebrane z drzewostanów sosnowych w wieku 15, 44 i 89 lat. W przeprowadzonych badaniach średnia zawartość olejków wzrastała wraz z wiekiem drzew. W igliwiu pochodzącym z 15-letniego młodnika zawartość olejku wynosiła średnio 0,46%, a w igliwiu drzewostanów 44- i 89-letnich odpowiednio 0,55 i 0,61%. Średnia zawartość olejku maleje wraz z wiekiem igliwia. Najwięcej olejku zawiera igliwie jednoroczne - 0,56%, najmniej igliwie trzyletnie - 0.48%. W drzewostanie 15-letnim stwierdzono wyraźny wzrost wyd…
On displacement-velocity coupling and the origin of in-plane stress in orthotropic moving continua
2014
In this paper, we address the problem of the origin of in-plane stresses in continuous, two-dimensional high-speed webs. In the case of thin, slender webs, a typical modeling approach is the application of a stationary in-plane model, without considering the effects of in-plane velocity field. However, for high-speed webs this approach is insufficient, because it neglects the coupling between the total material velocity and the deformation experienced by the material. By using a mixed Lagrange–Euler approach in model derivation, the solid continuum problem can be transformed to solid a continuum flow problem. Mass conservation in the flow problem, and the behaviour of free edges in the two-dime…
WRKY gene family drives dormancy release in onion bulbs
2022
Onion (Allium cepa L.) is an important bulb crop grown worldwide. Dormancy in bulbous plants is an important physiological state mainly regulated by a complex gene network that determines a stop of vegetative growth during unfavorable seasons. Limited knowledge on the molecular mechanisms that regulate dormancy in onion were available until now. Here, a comparison between uninfected and onion yellow dwarf virus (OYDV)-infected onion bulbs highlighted an altered dormancy in the virus-infected plants, causing several symptoms, such as leaf striping, growth reduction, early bulb sprouting and rooting, as well as a lower abscisic acid (ABA) level at the start of dormancy. Furthermore, by compar…
The rise of social media in career guidance
2018
Social media is regularly in the ‘news’ for good and for not so good reasons. In career development social media can be used by organisations to further develop a common understanding with clients. For many, social media is simply a collection of online tools that enable communities to share information, communicate and socialise. Social media provides new opportunities for career practitioners, but it also creates a demand in terms of new competencies. Following on from NCGE’s recent webinar that covered areas including using ICT tools and Social Media in guidance, in this article Jaana Kettunen explores the use and importance of social media in and for career guidance services. nonPeerRev…
A Service Model for Green Open Access in Finland – Why, What and How?
2017
Presentation in the ILIDE 2017 conference in Jasná, Slovakia. Presentation focuses on describing the centralized service model of green open access and how the open access goals set by EU and the Finnish Open Science and Research Initiative can be reached.

The Roadmap to Finnish Open Science and Research
2015
Finland published its open science roadmap at the end of November 2014. This roadmap is based on the work of the Open Science and Research Initiative (ATT), a cross-administrative initiative established by the Ministry of Education and Culture. The goal of this initiative is to promote open science and availability of information. Exploration of recent developments of open access in the EU shows that Finland is not among the leading countries in the EU. This paper focuses on the practical action plan of this roadmap and describes how the weakest part of Finnish open science, green open access is to be lifted at international top level.
Per un museo diffuso di arte contemporanea: il quartiere Eur a Roma. Frammenti di storia e paesaggio tra preesistenze archeologiche, architettura, ar…
2015
Abstract Obiettivi. Risultati. L’intervento mira a tradurre i contributi scientifici sull’a…
