Exploring User Acceptance of Free Wireless Fidelity Public Hot Spots : An Empirical Study

2008

Research regarding commercial and free wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) public hot spots acceptance and adoption is sketchy. Therefore, it has become imperative to understand the critical factors that affect their acceptance. The focus of this study is free Wi-Fi public hot spot users, with the objective to better understand their user acceptance. In doing so, this study integrated two well-established initial acceptance models, specifically, the technology acceptance model and the diffusion of innovation theory. This study was conducted using an on-line survey that collected data from 129 users. It uses the Partial Least Square (PLS) technique to examine the relationship between variables. The re…

Teacher beliefs on the significance of technology in education : the influence for inclusion in the andalusian teaching centers

2014

Innoeduca : international journal of technology and educational innovation

2021

Invisible streams : Process-thinking in Arendt

2016

For Hannah Arendt, some of the most distinctive features of the modern age derived from the adoption of a process-imaginary in science, history, and administration. This article examines Arendt’s work, identifying what it calls the ‘process-frame’ in her criticism of imperialism, economy, and the biologization of politics. It discusses an interpretation in which ‘natality’ presents a completely alternative mode of temporality, a resistance to the process-frame. This interpretation, it is argued, needs to be specified by taking into account that political action both interrupts and starts processes of its own. To confine and overcome the negative effects of process-framing, it is important t…

Deriving electrophysiological brain network connectivity via tensor component analysis during freely listening to music

2020

Recent studies show that the dynamics of electrophysiological functional connectivity is attracting more and more interest since it is considered as a better representation of functional brain networks than static network analysis. It is believed that the dynamic electrophysiological brain networks with specific frequency modes, transiently form and dissolve to support ongoing cognitive function during continuous task performance. Here, we propose a novel method based on tensor component analysis (TCA), to characterize the spatial, temporal, and spectral signatures of dynamic electrophysiological brain networks in electroencephalography (EEG) data recorded during free music-listening. A thr…

Grand Canonical Rate Theory for Electrochemical and Electrocatalytic Systems I : General Formulation and Proton-coupled Electron Transfer Reactions

2020

Electrochemical interfaces present a serious challenge for atomistic modelling. Electrochemical thermodynamics are naturally addressed within the grand canonical ensemble (GCE) but the lack of a fixed potential rate theory impedes fundamental understanding and computation of electrochemical rate constants. Herein, a generally valid electrochemical rate theory is developed by extending equilibrium canonical rate theory to the GCE. The extension provides a rigorous framework for addressing classical reactions, nuclear tunneling and other quantum effects, non-adiabaticity etc. from a single unified theoretical framework. The rate expressions can be parametrized directly with self-consistent GC…
