Bakalaura darbs ir uzrakstīts latviešu valodā uz 29 lapām. Tas satur 19 attēlus, 7 tabulas un 33 atsauces uz literatūras avotiem. Darba mērķis: novērtēt, cik precīzi optometristu praksē iespējams noteikt iridokorneālā leņķa platumu un kādi faktori var ietekmēt šī leņķa lielumu. Metode: iridokorneālais leņķis (IKL) tika novērtēts ar van Herick metodi, izmantojot spraugas lampu, dažādos apgaismojuma apstākļos un priekšējā segmenta optiskās koherences tomogrāfu (AS-OCT). Rezultāti un secinājumi: lai precīzāk raksturotu IKL, jāpapildina van Herick metodes raksturojošās pakāpes. En el año 1860 se consumó el derribo total de la antigua Casa de la Ciudad de Valencia. ¿Edificio ruinoso o deliberadamente arruinado? A un cierto deterioro inicial no atendido correctamente se sumó el oprobio, la desidia, la inoperancia y la nefasta gestión de un gobierno municipal que cambiaba de presidencia con demasiada asiduidad en virtud de los vaivenes políticos y sociales. A ello se sumaron intereses económicos derivados de las nuevas alineaciones viales circundantes. El presente estudio desvela los pormenores de la pérdida de uno de los tantos edificios sucumbidos en la Valencia del siglo XIX. (A)

When a questionnaire is translated into a new language, a linguistic validation is necessary but not sufficient unless the psychometric characteristics have been verified. Objective: To document the psychometric characteristics of the Italian translation of the Gastrointestinal Symptom-Rating Scale (GSRS) and Quality of Life in Reflux and Dyspepsia (QOLRAD) questionnaire. Chemical characterization of okra stalk (Abelmoschus esculentus) as potential raw material for biorefinery utilization

In the present work, okra stalk (Abelmoschus esculentus) was chemically characterized to evaluate its appropriate exploitation as a biorefinery feedstock. The chemical composition of this renewable lignocellulosic material yielding maximum up to 120 tons per hectare was primarily determined by methods of wood chemical analysis. In terms of its main organic constituents, its dry matter contained 65.0% carbohydrates (cellulose, hemicelluloses and other polysaccharides), 20.5% lignin and 5.0% extractives. Absolute measurement of quadratic nonlinearities from phase-matched second-harmonic generation in a single KTP crystal cut as a sphere

We determine within an accuracy of ∼10% the absolute magnitude of the quadratic effective coefficients of types I and II phase-matched second-harmonic generation from conversion efficiency measurements in a single nonlinear crystal cut as a sphere. The agreement is good with measurements performed in thin parallelepipedal samples. The material studied is KTiOPO4, for which improved Sellmeier equations are given.

On the basis of a set of boundary conditions describing quite generally mass and energy transport processes across the free surface of helium II, the acoustic coefficients of reflection, transmission, and transformation of first sound, second sound, and the sound wave propagating in the vapor are calculated in the case of perpendicular incidence of sound waves against the liquid-vapor phase boundary. International audience; Silica aerogel has been widely studied as bulk material for its extremely low density and thermal conductivity. Plates or membranes made of this extremely soft materials exhibits interesting properties for sound absorption. A novel signal processing method for the characterization of an acoustic metamaterial made of silica aerogel clamped plates is presented. The acoustic impedance of a silica aerogel clamped plate is derived from the elastic theory for the flexural waves, while the transfer matrix method is used to model reflection and transmission coefficients of a single plate.
