Abstract Objective: To compare compliance, symptom control, bleeding patterns, endometrial response, and lipid changes in postmenopausal women treated with transdermal E 2 and a regimen of either intermittent or continuous dosing of progestin. Design: Randomized, prospective study. Setting: Menopausal Outpatient Clinic at an academic tertiary care hospital. Intermediate-high-risk pulmonary embolism (PE) is characterized by right ventricular (RV) dysfunction and elevated circulating cardiac troponin levels despite apparent hemodynamic stability at presentation. We enrolled two groups of patients hospitalized for Covid-19, i.e., kidney transplant recipients from the French Registry of Solid Organ Transplant (n=306) and a single-center cohort of non-transplant patients (n=795). Statin therapy is generally well tolerated and very effective in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease, regardless of cholesterol levels; however, it can be associated with various adverse events (myalgia, myopathy, rhabdomyolysis, and diabetes mellitus, among others). Patients frequently discontinue statin therapy without medical advice because of perceived side effects and consequently increase their risk for cardiovascular events.
