Forest fires are a key disturbance in boreal forests, and characteristics of fire regimes are among the most important factors explaining the variation in forest structure and species composition. The occurrence of fire is connected with climate, but earlier, mostly local-scale studies in the northern European boreal forests have provided little insight into fire-climate relationship before the modern fire suppression period. Sports clubs are often perceived as important mediums for social integration, but the empirical evidence to support this claim is limited. This article sets out to identify individual and organisational characteristics that are conducive to social integration of members and volunteers. Drawing on survey data from 13,000 members and volunteers in ten European countries, an exploratory factor analysis identified three dimensions of social integration. Upper limits on the isotropic gravitational-wave background from Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo's third observing run

We report results of a search for an isotropic gravitational-wave background (GWB) using data from Advanced LIGO's and Advanced Virgo's third observing run (O3) combined with upper limits from the earlier O1 and O2 runs. Unlike in previous observing runs in the advanced detector era, we include Virgo in the search for the GWB. The results are consistent with uncorrelated noise, and therefore we place upper limits on the strength of the GWB. Elliptic flow of identified hadrons in Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV

The elliptic flow coefficient (v2) of identified particles in Pb-Pb collisions at √ sNN = 2.76 TeV was measured with the ALICE detector at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The results were obtained with the Scalar Product method, a two-particle correlation technique, using a pseudo-rapidity gap of |∆η| > 0.9 between the identified hadron under study and the reference particles. The v2 is reported for π ±, K±, K0 S , p+p, φ, Λ+Λ, Ξ −+Ξ + and Ω−+Ω + in several collision centralities. In the low transverse momentum (pT) region, pT 3 GeV/c. peerReviewed
