From 2001 Italian university system has adopted the credits to mea- sure the workload of the students. The weighted mean of marks with credits as weights is used to measure the their performance. In our opinion it does not seem a proper way to measure. We suggest to adopt the median of the weighted marks, because we are considering an ordinale variable, with a non-normal empir- ical distribution, and a®ected by outliers. Then, instead of using an OLS multiple regression, we investigate the determinants of the performance measured by the median using a regression quantile for ordinal response. Correspondence between generalized binomial field states and coherent atomic states

We show that the N-photon generalized binomial states of electromagnetic field may be put in a bijective mapping with the coherent atomic states of N two-level atoms. We exploit this correspondence to simply obtain both known and new properties of the N-photon generalized binomial states. In particular, an over-complete basis of these binomial states and an orthonormal basis are obtained. Finally, the squeezing properties of generalized binomial state are analyzed.

In this thesis we present an overview of some important known facts related to topology, geometry and calculus on metric spaces. We discuss the well known problem of the existence of a lipschitz equivalent metric to a given quasiultrametric, revisiting known results and counterexamples and providing some new theorems, in an unified approach. Thermal bleaching of gamma-induced-defects in optical fibers

International audience; Ge-doped and F-doped gamma-irradiated fibers with a maximum accumulated dose of 10 MGy were subjected to isochronal annealing treatments up to 750°C. The thermal treatment influence on the point defect generation and transformation were investigated through Radiation Induced Attenuation (RIA) changes in the visible and IR spectral domains. The thermal bleaching of gammainduced-defects depends on both temperature and composition of optical fibers.

Negli ultimi anni l’Europa ha dovuto affrontare le conseguenze di una crescente propaganda estremista, radicale e terroristica, che sempre più spesso trova spazio nei social media. Il contributo descrive il progetto COMMIT (COMMunIcation campaign against exTremism and radicalisation) che ha sviluppato, tra il 2020 e il 2022, una serie di attività di ricerca e di intervento con l’obiettivo, da un lato, di mappare il fenomeno della radicalizzazione online nei quattro Paesi partner (Italia, Grecia, Austria e Paesi Bassi) e individuare le caratteristiche dei gruppi più vulnerabili, dall’altro, di sviluppare le competenze di media literacy e di advocacy dei giovani destinatari del progetto.

Na skutek działalności człowieka do gleby może dostać się znaczna ilość izotopów promieniotwórczych. Alter- natywę dla konwencjonalnych metod remediacji gleb zanieczyszczonych radioizotopami stanowi bioremediacja. Obejmuje ona: biosorpcję, fitostabilizację i fitoekstrakcję. Biosorpcja bazuje na adsorpcji i kumulowaniu radio- izotopów przez organizmy żywe. Fitostabilizacja powoduje immobilizację zanieczyszczeń na skutek działalności systemu korzeniowego roślin. Fitoekstrakcja polega na pobieraniu pierwiastków promieniotwórczych przez korzenie roślin i ich transporcie do części nadziemnych.
