Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most frequently reported histologic type, with a median survival after surgery and combined treatment with chemotherapy and radiotherapy of 12–16 months. Several studies have shown that the extent of resection (EOR) of the contrast-enhancing part of the tumor improves survival in patients with HGGs, although the quest to achieve optimal oncologic outcomes must be tempered with the neurologic result following radical resection. Granular cell tumor (GCT) was described for the first time by Abrikosoff in 1926. It is a relatively rare neoplasm that may occur at many sites, but most commonly in the skin or soft tissues. The occurrence of GCT in the gastrointestinal tract is rare, accounting approximately for 8% of all tumors, among which the most common site is the esophagus, whereas gastric localization is very rare. Gastric GCTs can be solitary or, more frequently, associated with other gastrointestinal localization. Abstract Poland syndrome is characterized by a combination of absent pectoralis muscle, abnormalities of the rib cage, the breast, as well as brachy-syndactyly. We report a case of a 3 month old girl who was born with right sided axillary pterygium combined with flattening of the right anterior chest wall. Resection of a sclerotic band with reconstruction by Z-plasty was performed. Intraoperative and histopathological findings confirmed that the axillary pterygium developed on the basis of a scarred, hypoplastic pectoralis major muscle. Affine camera calibration from homographies of parallel planes

This paper deals with the problem of retrieving the affine structure of a scene from two or more images of parallel planes. We propose a new approach that is solely based on plane homographies, calculated from point correspondences, and that does not require the recovery of the 3D structure of the scene. Neither vanishing points nor lines need to be extracted from the images. The case of a moving camera with constant intrinsic parameters and the one of cameras with possibly different parameters are both addressed. Extensive experiments with both synthetic and real images have validated our approach.

Background The aim of our study was to clarify the indications for operation in invasive pulmonary aspergillosis. Methods Nineteen patients with hematologic malignancy, in whom invasive pulmonary aspergillosis developed during the course of neutropenia, had operations. Neutropenia lasted 28 days (range, 15 to 45 days). The preoperative diagnosis of invasive pulmonary aspergillosis was based on computed tomographic scan findings (halo or air crescent signs). Results Eight patients underwent emergency operations, before marrow recovery, for prevention of massive hemoptysis.
