SHEAR RESISTANCE OF R/C BEAMS PROVIDED WITH DIFFERENTLY-INCLINED TRANSVERSE REINFORCEMENT
2012
The model for the evaluation of shear resistance of reinforced concrete member provided with transverse web reinforcement, derived by Nielsen (1999) on the basis of the variable inclination stress field approach, is generalized here to predict the shear strength of r.c. beams equipped with two sets of differently-inclined transversal web reinforcement and longitudinal skin reinforcement. Numerical analyses emphasize the efficiency of double inclined web transverse reinforcement in providing shear strength to beams.
Presence of endophytic bacteria in Vitis vinifera leaves as detected by Fluorescence in situ hybridization
2010
Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) in combination with confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) was applied to detect and localize bacterial colonies in leaf tissues of Vitis vinifera. Leaves were cleared to minimize the autofluorescence of plant fragments. The use of fluorescently labeled bacterial probe EUB338 on discolored grapevine leaf disks allowed the estimation of the spatial distribution of different bacterial colonies. In particular, bacterial colonies were found in veins, cells, hairs, intercellular spaces, and in cut edges of leaf disks of both non-Acremonium byssoides-colonized and A. byssoides-colonized leaves of five different cultivars. Furthermore, CLSM confirmed th…
L'INFLUENCE DE L'INTRUSION PERÇUE SUR LES COMPORTEMENTS DE RÉSISTANCE AUX FORMATS DE PUBLICITÉ SUR INTERNET
2012
Drawing from the theoretical framework defined by Roux (2007), this research examines the relationship between perceived advertising intrusion (Anzieu, 1994) and manifestations of consumer resistance (Hirschman, 1970). The results show that the intrusion does not significantly affect the expression or intention to return to the website. However, it influences positively defection and negatively purchase intention of the product promoted in the ad.
Equivalent Circuit Modelling of Ferrite Inductors Losses
2018
The modelling of the magnetic losses in the core of ferrite inductors for power conversion circuits has been considered in this paper. On the basis of the Revised Generalized Steinmetz Model (RGSE) an equivalent circuital modelling has been obtained. The losses are modelled as an equivalent resistance connected in parallel to the inductor. The model has been tested under periodic triangular current waveforms.
Costituzionalismo dei diritti e diritto di eccezione
2010
ABSTRACT: This article will discuss the right to resistance and the legal treatment it is given in Ecuador. The analysis includes the formula that the Ecuadorian Constitution of 2008 proposes to reconcile resistance and Law withi…
Adapting to a Global Health Challenge: Managing Antimicrobial Resistance in the Nordics
2020
This article explores the adaptation of Norway and Sweden to one of the major challenges to global public health, antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Guided by assumptions derived from institutional theory, the article investigates whether, and, if so, how the AMR problem has affected the two Nordic countries’ administrative systems and frameworks for Nordic cooperation. The article builds on selected literature, expert interviews, and public documents. The findings suggest that the international impact on Norway and Sweden’s managerial adaptation to AMR is limited. Instead, adaptation takes place through incremental change within existing structures for disease prevention and control and follo…
Effects of a short-term resistance training protocol on risk factors for the metabolic syndrome in the elderly
2016
The metabolic syndrome is strongly associated with negative health outcomes, such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and death. The elderly are at particularly high risk of developing the metabolic syndrome, owing to the physiological and behavioural changes associated with aging. The positive influence that resistance training has on the neuromuscular system has long been evident; however, in more recent years, increasing focus has been placed on the role of RT in preventing and treating chronic disease. The majority of studies in the literature suggest that RT has a positive effect on cardiometabolic risk factors. That being said, there remain some inconsistencies. Whether improve…
Cytotoxic effects of a crude extract of extra virgin olive oil on human HL60 cell lines sensitive and resistant with MDR phenotype

Metodo per la genotipizzazione di HIV-1 e relativi kit diagnostici per la rilevazione di farmaco-resistenza (gene ENV-gp41).
2007
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION This invention concerns a laboratory method for genotyping human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) through gene sequencing of gp41-env. It allows to detect the nucleotide mutations conferring resistance to antiretroviral drugs active to gp41-env. The present method allows to analyze also low viraemia samples at around 101 -102 copies HIV-RNA/ml. This method offers the advantage of being easily adaptable to both plasma and cellular samples and is therefore able to value "in advance" the genetic mutations potentially involved in the resistance phenomena to anti-retroviral drugs, even in patients with optimal/sub-optimal virologic control. The kit use the one-s…
