Pesticides are regulated in Europe and this process includes an environmental risk assessment (ERA) for nontarget arthropods (NTA). Traditionally a non-spatial or field trial assessment is used. In this study we exemplify the introduction of a spatial context to the ERA as well as suggest a way in which the results of complex models, necessary for proper inclusion of spatial aspects in the ERA, can be presented and evaluated easily using abundance and occupancy ratios (AOR). In this contribution, we discuss phenomenological research related to a pilot study carried out by the Consortium of the MaTeK Horizon 2020 project during the 2020–21 academic year. The research aims to analyse the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on the use of teaching resources in mathematics in five coun- tries. A questionnaire made of seven questions was administered to a data sample made of teachers of all grades. The answers coming from the questionnaire were quantitatively and qualitatively analysed. Real-Time Object Detection in Embedded Video Surveillance Systems

In this paper we report a new method to detect both moving objects and new stationary objects in video sequences. On the basis of temporal consideration we classify pixels into three classes: background, midground and foreground to distinguish between long-term, medium-term and short-term changes. The algorithm has been implemented on a hardware platform with limited resources and it could be used in a wider system like a wireless sensor networks. Particular care has been put in realizing the algorithm so that the limited available resources are used in an efficient way. Experiments have been conducted on publicly available datasets and performance measures are reported.

This book is part of a broader study into new migration experiences and, in particular, that of young migrants who have recently arrived in Italy via the Mediterranean route. The main object under investigation is the linguistic and communicative resources available to these migrants at their point of departure and how these have been used and modified during their journey.
Glossing the Old Frisian Psalter: Pragmatics and Competence

The essay takes into examination the interlinear glosses in Old Frisian in the fragment of Psalter in ms. Groningen, Universiteitsbibliotheek 404. This is the oldest medieval Frisian fragmentary codex to survive and contains verses of Psalms XVII, XXVII, and XVIII, accompanied by glosses in the vernacular. This essay is the first lengthy study specifically devoted to the typology of the glosses themselves and their peculiarities (within the field of interlinear glosses). On close inspection, the OF glosses show a large internal coherence and individual quality.
