AbstractUrban green infrastructure could represent an important mean for environmental mitigation, if designed according to the principles of restoration ecology. Moreover, if suitably executed, managed and sized, they may be assimilated to meta-populations of natural habitats, deserving to be included in the biodiversity monitoring networks. In this chapter, we combined automatised and expert opinion-based procedures in order to select the vascular plant assemblages to populate different microhabitats (differing in terms of light and moisture) co-occurring on an existing green roof in Zurich (Switzerland). In Italia, nella seconda metà del Novecento, numerosi furono i centri urbani abbandonati, a causa, ad esempio, dell’emigrazione, dei dissesti idrogeologici e degli eventi sismici. In Sicilia, i paesi di Gibellina, Salaparuta, Poggioreale, nella provincia di Trapani e Montevago, nella provincia di Agrigento, dopo il terremoto, del gennaio 1968, che colpì la parte occidentale dell’Isola, furono abbandonati e, negli anni successivi, ricostruiti, anche in siti distanti. Indagine composizionale sulle pitture di due vasi di Centuripe

Due vasi Centuripe a Palermo sono stati analizzati utilizzando XRF portatile complementare e FTIR a riflessione totale spettroscopie. Le analisi consentono di chiarire la tavolozza e la tecnica della decorazione (pittura a tempera con un legante organico), e mostrano la presenza di pigmenti sia antichi che moderni (a causa di qualche recente riverniciatura). Uno dei risultati più interessanti è stata l'identificazione di due fasi del solfato di calcio nello strato sottostante i dipinti: a causa delle condizioni che trasformano il gesso in bassanite, la presenza di il gesso o, in alternativa, la bassanite in ciascuna parte analizzata possono rappresentare un criterio per distinguere l'origin…

Nei pressi di Piazza Armerina (Enna), all'inizio del sec. XX, sono stati scoperti i resti della Villa romana del Casale (IV sec. dC), con ricchi pavimenti musivi. Dopo il primo restauro, verso la metà degli anni Cinquanta del sec. XX, l'architetto F. Minissi e C. Brandi progettarono una protezione stabile e un sistema per la fruizione dei resti della villa. Il tetto è stato realizzato con materiali moderni: profili in alluminio e lastre di vetro e perspex, che evocavano le antiche volurne, pur mantenendo l'autenticità dei resti. La sistemazione, per mancanza di manutenzione, è stata fonte di degrado per i mosaici, e infatti dal 2007 sono iniziati i lavori per la loro distruzione e sostituzi…

[EN] The paper concerns the 3D reconstruction and virtual restoration of a painted rock-cut chamber tombs located in the interior of Southern Etruria (Viterbo Province, Central Italy). The tomb was discovered in 1901 in a place named Pranzovico and it dates from the mid-fifth century BC; it has a cross plan with central atrium (decorated with paintings) and three chambers in which there are the rock-cut funerary beds. The paintings have been largely destroyed by illegal excavators in the days immediately following the discovery; during the 20th century it was damaged due to agricultural works in the surroundings and now it is partially filled up. This work illustrates the first results of the Project of Virtual Archaeology which is now developed by a team of topographer from Salento University (Lecce) together with the équipe of Archaeological Mission of Centro di Studi Papirologici at Soknopaiou Nesos (Fayyum, Egypt). Article also focuses on the main aims of this project : a topographical survey and virtual reconstruction of monuments, digital analysis of data, representation of urban and suburban landscape and their evolution, achievement of a special platform for using the data both on-line and off-line.
