Data concerning the protein absorption and retention properties of xyloglucan-based hydrogel film

In wound dressing applications, exudate absorption and retention are important properties. The data presented here assess the ability of the crosslinked xyloglucan-poly(vinyl alcohol) hydrogel films (XG-PVA), described in "Xyloglucan-based hydrogel films for wound dressing: Structure-property relationships" (Ajovalasit et al., 2018) [1] and "Biocompatibility, hemocompatibility and antimicrobial properties of xyloglucan-based hydrogel film for wound healing application" (Picone et al., 2019), to absorb and retain proteins. Approaches to model the retention and peak profile in linear gradient reversed-phase liquid chromatography.

Abstract The optimisation of the experimental conditions in gradient reversed-phase liquid chromatography requires reliable algorithms for the description of the retention and peak profile. As in isocratic elution, the linear relationship between the logarithm of the retention factor and the solvent contents is only acceptable in relatively small concentration ranges of modifier. Comparative study of laboratory-scale thermophilic and mesophilic activated sludge processes.

Laboratory-scale mesophilic (20-35 degrees C) and thermophilic (55 degrees C) activated sludge processes (ASPs) treating diluted molasses wastewater were compared in effluent quality, removal of different COD fractions, sludge yield, floc size, and sludge settleability. The effect of polyaluminium chloride (PAC) with high cationic charge on sludge settleability and effluent quality was also studied. In the ASPs, the hydraulic retention time was 12h in both processes, corresponding to a volumetric loading rate of 3.2+/-1.0 kg COD(filt) m(-3)d(-1). Polymers imprinted with clenbuterol were used to study the influence of various post-polymerization treatments [e.g., thermal annealing, microwave assisted extraction (MAE), Soxhlet extraction and supercritical fluid template desorption] on the bleeding of residual template. Hypobetalipoproteinemias (HBL) represent a heterogeneous group of disorders characterized by reduced plasma levels of total cholesterol (TC), low density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C) and apolipoprotein B (apoB) below the 5th percentile of the distribution in the population. HBL are defined as primary or secondary according to the underlying causes. Primary monogenic HBL are caused by mutations in several known genes (APOB, PCSK9, MTP, SARA2) or mutations in genes not yet identified. Familial hypobetalipoproteinemia (FHBL) is the most frequent monogenic form of HBL with a dominant mode of inheritance. LRP1 modulates APP trafficking along early compartments of the secretory pathway

The amyloid beta peptide (A beta) is a central player in Alzheimer's disease (AD) pathology. A beta liberation depends on APP cleavage by beta- and gamma-secretases. The low density lipoprotein receptor related protein 1 (LRP1) was shown to mediate APP processing at multiple steps. Newly synthesized LRP1 can interact with APP, implying an interaction between these two proteins early in the secretory pathway. We wanted to investigate whether LRP1 mediates APP trafficking along the secretory pathway, and, if so, whether it affects APP processing.
