High-resolution X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy techniques were used to investigate, as a function of the nominal Zn content in the range of 0–50%, the out-of-plane and in-plane crystallographic characteristics of Cd1−xZnxO films grown on r-plane sapphire substrates via atmospheric pressure metal–organic chemical vapor deposition. The study is conducted to search for knowledge relating to the structural details during the transition process from a rock-salt to a wurtzite structure as the Zn content increases in this CdO–ZnO system. Abstract Using hybrid exchange-correlation functional within density functional theory we have performed first-principle total energy calculations of Mn-doped yttrium orthoaluminate (YAlO3). Its equilibrium atomic structure has been predicted through optimization of coordinates of all atoms using a supercell approach. In our research both Mn3+ and Mn2+ ions have been substituted for the host alumina atom at orthorhombic Pbnm unit cell of YAlO3. F-center has been implemented as charge-compensating defect in case, when Mn2+ dopant is under study. Relaxation of polarization in (K0.5Na0.5)(Nb0.93Sb0.07)O3 ferroelectric ceramics modified by BaTiO3

ABSTRACTA study of low-frequency relaxation of polarization in conventionally prepared ceramic compounds of (1-x)(K0.5Na0.5)(Nb0.93Sb0.07)O3+xBaTiO3+0.5mol.%MnO2 (x = 0.02, 0.04) examined over a wide temperature range is reported. Anomalous behavior of the temperature dependence of the coercive field Ec(T) is detected in the temperature range of the orthorhombic to tetragonal phase transition. The observed features of polarization are assigned to dynamics of the domain structure at the temperature range of phase coexistence.
A versatile rigid binucleating ligand for Rh2(μ-Cl)2 moieties: its application as a catalyst in hydrogenation and cyclopropanation

A rigid non-deforming "MCl 2 M" binucleating ligand [7,8-μ-S(4'-C 6 H 3 (CH 3 ))S-C 2 B 9 H 1 0 ] - able to held the two rhodium atoms in a cooperative distance has been synthesized. The original two bridging chlorides are retained in [Rh 2 (C 5 Me 5 ) 2 Cl 2 {7,8-μ-S(4'-C 6 H 3 (CH 3 ))S-C 2 B 9 H 1 0 }] + . Hydrogenation of 1-hexene is 10 times faster with [Rh 2 (C 5 Me 5 ) 2 Cl 2 {7,8-μ-S(4'-C 6 H 3 (CH 3 ))S-C 2 B 9 H 1 0 }] + than with [Rh 2 (C 5 Me 5 ) 2 Cl 4 ]. A hydrogenation mechanism has been proposed which assumes that [Rh 2 (C 5 Me 5 ) 2 (Cl)(H){7,8-μ-S(4'-C 6 H 3 (CH 3 ))S-C 2 B 9 H 1 0 }] + is the first generated species in the process.
Access to α-Aminophosphonic Acid Derivatives and Phosphonopeptides by [Rh(P–OP)]-Catalyzed Stereoselective Hydrogenation

The hydrogenation of N-substituted vinylphosphonates using rhodium complexes derived from P–OP ligands L1, ent-L1, or (R,R)-Me-DuPHOS as catalysts has been successfully accomplished, achieving very high levels of stereoselectivity (up to 99% ee or de). The described synthetic strategy allowed for the efficient preparation of α-aminophosphonic acid derivatives and phosphonopeptides, which are valuable building blocks for the preparation of biologically relevant molecules.

Two novel ReIV salts of general formula [H2ade]2[ReIVX6]X2·4H2O [H2ade2+ = 9H-adenine-1,7-diium; X = Cl(1) and Br(2)] have been synthesized and magneto-structurally characterized. 1 and 2 are isostructural salts that crystallize in the orthorhombic system with space group Fdd2. Both compounds are made up of discrete mononuclear [ReIVX6]2- and X- anions and doubly protonated adenine cations. The six-coordinate rhenium(IV) ion is bonded to six halide ligands [X = Cl (1) and Br (2)] in an octahedral geometry. Abstract The Kane Megamullion oceanic core complex located along the Mid-Atlantic Ridge (23°30′N, 45°20′W) exposes lower crust and upper mantle directly on the ocean floor. We studied chalcophile elements and sulfides in the ultramafic and mafic rocks of the crust-mantle transition and the mantle underneath. We determined mineralogical and elemental composition and the Cu isotope composition of the respective sulfides along with the mineralogical and elemental composition of the respective serpentines. Middle-Late Triassic chondrichthyans remains from the the Betic Range (Spain)

Purpose In the present study, we described, for first time, the chondrichthyan fauna from several Middle-Late Triassic sections in the Betic Domain and compare it with other recent described coeval faunas from the Iberian Ranges. Methods Specimens were retrieved after the dissolution (with 10% acetic acid) of carbonate rocks. Results The assemblage comprises of seven species belonging to six genera (Hybodus plicatilis, Omanoselache bucheri comb. nov., Omanoselache contrarius comb. nov., Lonchidion derenzii, Lissodus aff. Plant teratologies as a result of phytoplasma infections

The direct correlation between teratological cases and phytoplasma infections was ascertained in spontaneous and cultivated plant species. Plants, belonging to 31 species and 12 families, showing symptoms of growth abnormalities were collected and analysed. Attempted detection of Rhodococcus fascians by isolation, PCR indexing and 16S rRNA sequencing from fasciated tissues allowed to exclude its presence. Nested PCR by universal primers and 16S rRNA sequence analyses indicated the presence of phytoplasmas, belonging to six groups, in the 44% of symptomatic samples.
