Testing explosive bubbles with time-varying volatility: the case of Spanish public debt

In this paper the dynamics of the Spanish public debt-GDP ratio is analysed during the period 1850–2021. We use recent procedures to test for explosive bubbles in the presence under time- varying volatility (Harvey et al., 2016; Harvey et al., 2019, 2020; Kurozumi et al., 2022) in order to test the explosive behavior of Spanish public debt over this long period. We extend previous analysis of Esteve and Prats (2022) where assume constant unconditional volatility in the underlying error process.

Efficient remote authentication

In 2003, Kennel and Jamieson described a method of remote machine authentication. By authentication, the authors meant that the remote machine is non-virtual, and the operating system on the remote machine is not malicious. The described method does not consider the variety of versions of each operating system. The description completely ignores the existence of modules that can be plugged into the operating system. The authors of this paper adapt the method described by Kennel and Jamieson to the real world so that itcan be applied without prior knowledge of theoperating system or the modules on the remote machine. peerReviewed

Time interaction with two spatial dimensions: from left/right to near/far

In this study, we explored the time and space relationship according to two different spatial codings, namely, the left/right extension and the reachability of stimulus along a near/far dimension. Four experiments were carried out in which healthy participants performed the time and spatial bisection tasks in near/far space, before and after short or long tool-use training. Stimuli were prebisected horizontal lines of different temporal durations in which the midpoint was manipulated according to the Muller-Lyer illusion. Two visual ERP experiments were conducted to investigate topic and contrast assigned by various cues such as discourse context, sentential position and marker during referential processing in Japanese. Experiment 1 showed that there was no N400-difference for new vs. given noun phrases (NPs) when the new NP was expected (contrastively focused) based on its preceding context and sentential position. Experiment 2 further revealed that the N400 for new NPs can be modulated by the NP’s contrastive meaning (exhausitivity) induced from the marker. Tras abandonar la Mancha el Júcar entra en el País Valenciano y a partir de su confluencia con el Cabriel, discurre primero encajado entre gargantas y luego sobre el llano aluvial de la Ribera, donde se le llama Xúquer. A ambos lados del río encontramos una toponimia –muchas veces poco transparente– que deriva de las características físicas de este río, de la protección ante sus avenidas, o de la vigilancia de los pasos o los caminos que lo atraviesan.
