Propagation pattern analysis during atrial fibrillation based on sparse modeling.

In this study, sparse modeling is introduced for the estimation of propagation patterns in intracardiac atrial fibrillation (AF) signals. The estimation is based on the partial directed coherence function, derived from fitting a multivariate autoregressive model to the observed signal using least-squares (LS) estimation. The propagation pattern analysis incorporates prior information on sparse coupling as well as the distance between the recording sites. The present study introduces sparse modeling for the estimation of propagation patterns in intracardiac atrial fibrillation (AF) signals. An ultrafast responding fluorescent-quenching PO2 probe allows time-resolved, in vivo measurement of PO2. This study describes several validation experiments of this new device in vitro, and reports its first use during cardiopulmonary resuscitation in an animal model of cardiac arrest.The influence of CO2, temperature and motion artefacts on the signal response of the PO2 probe was analysed in vitro by systematic variation of these values. Solid-state NMR investigation on the interactions between a synthetic montmorillonite and two homopolypeptides.

Abstract Interactions of two homopolypeptides (polylysine and polyglutamic acid) with a synthetic montmorillonite were studied by 1H MAS, 1H–27Al HETCOR and 1H–13C CP-MAS NMR experiments. 1H–27Al HETCOR with 1H spin-diffusion NMR appears to be a powerful probe for the identification of the polypeptide fragments, which interact with the montmorillonite interlayer surfaces. Kinetic and equilibrium studies for the adsorption of acid nucleic bases onto K10 montmorillonite

Abstract The kinetic of the adsorption of two nucleic acid bases, namely adenine (A) and cytosine (C), on K10 montmorillonite (MMT) clay has been investigated over a wide range of nitrogenous bases concentrations, by using the spectrophotometric method. The measurements have been performed at T = 25.0 °C and pH = 4.0 where adenine and cytosine exist both in their protonated and neutral forms. Preliminary to the kinetic data treatment, the adsorption isotherms have been gathered and, then, analyzed by using the Freundlich and the Dubinin–Radushkevich model. Self-phase modulation-based 2R regenerator including pulse compression and offset filtering for 42.6 Gbit/s RZ-33% transmission systems

International audience; We report on the experimental and theoretical study of a self-phase-modulation-based regenerator at 42.6 Gbit/s with a return-to-zero 33% format. We point out some detrimental effects such as intrachannel interactions and Brillouin scattering. An efficient solution, relying on a self-phase-modulation-based pulse compressor in combination with the regenerator, is proposed to overcome these detrimental phenomena. 1. The isolation of the F0F1-ATPase complex from Rhodospirillum rubrum chromatophores by the use of taurodeoxycholate is described. 2. The enzyme preparation contains about 12 polypeptides; five are subunits of the F1 moiety. 3. The ATPase activity of the purified enzyme is dependent on the addition of phospholipids. 4. Km-vales for Mg2+-ATP and Ca2+-ATP are similar to the values obtained for the membrane-bound enzyme. 5.
