Adolescent Brain Development and Progressive Legal Responsibility in the Latin American Context

In this article, we analyze the contributions of neuroscience to the development of the adolescent brain and shed additional light on the minimum age of criminal responsibility in the context of Latin America. In neurobiology, maturity is perceived to be complex because the brain’s temporal development process is not uniform across all its regions. This has important consequences for adolescents’ behavior; in their search for the acceptance of their peers, they are more vulnerable to pressure and more sensitive to stress than adults. Electrochemical identification of painters/workshops: The case of Valencian Renaissance-Baroque painters (ca. 1550- ca. 1670)

[EN] The voltammetry of immobilized particles (VIMP) methodology was applied to discriminate the oil painting production of a series of seven painters/workshops that worked in Valencia (Spain) between ca. 1530 and ca. 1650. When submicrosamples used for cross-section FESEM/EDX analysis were attached to graphite electrodes in contact with aqueous acetate buffer, well-defined responses were obtained. The reductive processes of lead pigments (lead white and lead-tin yellow) overlapped those associated to the lead soaps and other species resulting from the pigment-oil binder interaction in the sample. This chapter presents a participatory model for promoting organisational learning and innovation with potential application in criminal justice related organisations. We share the sensemaking process engaged in by the COLAB consortium tasked with comparing and contrasting a range of participatory interventions and developing a potentially hybrid model that combined the strengths of each. We describe this model on 11 key dimensions, that in themselves offer a useful tool through which different participatory methods might be compared. Today in most countries the practising of euthanasia is not permissible and as in any case of a criminal offence, which endangers the life of a person, criminal liability applies here. In this article I report the initial stages of a research focused on the efectiveness of those spanish criminal norms that protect against ethnic and racial discrimination.
