Sparse nonnegative tensor decomposition using proximal algorithm and inexact block coordinate descent scheme

Nonnegative tensor decomposition is a versatile tool for multiway data analysis, by which the extracted components are nonnegative and usually sparse. Nevertheless, the sparsity is only a side effect and cannot be explicitly controlled without additional regularization. In this paper, we investigated the nonnegative CANDECOMP/PARAFAC (NCP) decomposition with the sparse regularization item using l1-norm (sparse NCP). When high sparsity is imposed, the factor matrices will contain more zero components and will not be of full column rank. Krāsu redzes testa aprobācija datorizētajam redzes skrīningam

Mērķis: veikt datorizēta krāsu redzes testa aprobāciju un novērtēt tā piemērotību krāsu redzes defektu atklāšanā. Pētījumā pirmajā daļā, krāsu redze tika pārbaudīta 74 dalībniekiem vecumā no 20 līdz 50 gadiem, izmantojot datorizēto krāsu redzes skrīninga testu un Richmond HRR testu dienas gaismas apstākļos. Rezultātu atšķirība bija statistiski nozīmīga (p < 0,05). Otrajā pētījuma daļā krāsu redze tika pārbaudīta 26 cilvēkiem vecumā no 20 līdz 24 gadiem, izmantojot anomaloskopu un datorizēto testu tumsas apstākļos. Problem Transformation Methods with Distance-Based Learning for Multi-Target Regression

Multi-target regression is a special subset of supervised machine learning problems. Problem transformation methods are used in the field to improve the performance of basic methods. The purpose of this article is to test the use of recently popularized distance-based methods, the minimal learning machine (MLM) and the extreme minimal learning machine (EMLM), in problem transformation. The main advantage of the full data variants of these methods is the lack of any meta-parameter. Brief description of the object of study The competition of the Palace of Justice in Rome takes place in four phases between 1884 and 1887. The project for the first competition in 1884 drawn up by the then very young Ernesto Basile (Palermo 1857-1932) reveals a great deal of design expertise that transforms the complex functional program into an austere building in neo-florentine style. The original drawings of the building not realized kept in the Basile Endowment of the Department of Architecture of the University of Palermo have been the subject of preliminary study to the phases of analysis interpretation and conceptual reconstruction of the digital model. 2. Applications and non-idealities of submicron Al–AlOx–Nb tunnel junctions

We have developed a technique to fabricate sub-micron, 0.6µm×0.6µm Al-AlOx-Nb tunnel junctions using a standard e-beam resist, angle evaporation and double oxidation of the tunneling barrier, resulting in high quality niobium, as determined by the the high measured values of the critical temperature TC ∼ 7.5 K and the gap ∆ ∼ 1.3 meV. The devices show great promise for local nanoscale thermometry in the temperature range 1 - 7.5 K.
