Fonction et usage de la lettre de rémission chez les ducs de Bourgogne à la fin du Moyen Âge

2015

The letter of remission is a codified document given by the prince, stopping any procedure against people. It forgives the criminal and brings him back his good fama. It allows the historian to wonder about the forgiveness procedure that was established first by the monarchy, then by several territorial princes notably the dukes of Burgundy. The conditions in which these documents were produced at the end of the Middle Ages, their multiple copies and the copies that were made several decades after the initial pardon and that are conserved in the chartrier of the dukes of Burgundy in the Archives Départementales de Côte d’Or invites us to analyze the different practices through time, first b…

Influencia del género sobre el proceso de desarrollo del síndrome de quemarse por el trabajo (Burnout) en profesionales de enfermería

2002

The purpose of this study was to analyze if gender differences establish significant differences in the levels and process of the burnout syndrome. Results indicate that the men (N = 72) perceive significantly more despersonalization that t he women (N = 258). In the sample of men p ersonal accomplishment was not a significant antecedent of despersonalization, while in the sample of women emotional exhaustion was not a significant antecedent of inclination to be absent. As a c onclusion it i s recommended that managers of personnel i n h ealth sector should take into consideration the gender differences in the intervention on the burnout syndrome.

MEDLEM database, a data collection on large Elasmobranchs in the Mediterranean and Black seas

2020

The Mediterranean Large Elasmobranchs Monitoring (MEDLEM) database contains more than 3,000 records (with more than 4,000 individuals) of large elasmobranch species from 21 different countries around the Mediterranean and Black seas, observed from 1666 to 2017. The principal species included in the archive are the devil ray (1,868 individuals), the basking shark (935 individuals), the blue shark (622 individuals), and the great white shark (342 individuals). In the last decades, other species such as the thresher shark (187 individuals), the shortfin mako (180 individuals), and the spiny butterfly ray (138) were reported with increasing frequency. This was possibly due to increased public a…

Orbital Decomposition of the Carbon Chemical Shielding Tensor in Gold(I) N-Heterocyclic Carbene Complexes.

2020

The good performance of N‐heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs), in terms of versatility and selectivity, has called the attention of experimentalists and theoreticians attempting to understand their electronic properties. Analyses of the Au(I)–C bond in [(NHC)AuL]+/0 (L stands for a neutral or negatively charged ligand), through the Dewar–Chatt–Duncanson model and the charge displacement function, have revealed that NHC is not purely a σ‐donor but may have a significant π‐acceptor character. It turns out, however, that only the σ‐donation bonding component strongly correlates with one specific component of the chemical shielding tensor. Here, in extension to earlier works, a current density analysi…

Preserved knowledge maps of countries: Implications for the organisation of semantic memory

2004

We describe two patients with selectively preserved knowledge of the category of countries. Following a series of cerebra infarcts, patient DB presented with severe perceptual impairment, including dense apperceptive agnosia, prosopagnosia, an topographical agnosia. Despite these deficits, he could effortlessly name countries from their outline maps. Patient WH, who suffered from semantic dementia, had severe naming and comprehension difficulties, with extremely sparse residual semantic knowledge. Remarkably, the category of countries was preserved. First, we argue that, for both patients, this category preservation occurs at a semantic level. Second, we discuss our findings in the context …

Monitoring of anti-vaccine CD4 T cell frequencies in melanoma patients vaccinated with a MAGE-3 protein.

2005

Abstract Quantitative evaluation of T cell responses of patients receiving antitumoral vaccination with a protein is difficult because of the large number of possible HLA-peptide combinations that could be targeted by the response. To evaluate the responses of patients vaccinated with protein MAGE-3, we have developed an approach that involves overnight stimulation of blood T cells with autologous dendritic cells loaded with the protein, sorting by flow cytometry of the T cells that produce IFN-γ, cloning of these cells, and evaluation of the number of T cell clones that secrete IFN-γ upon stimulation with the Ag. An important criterion is that T cell clones must recognize not only stimulat…

Correlations Between Clinical Trial Outcomes Based on Symptoms, Functional Impairments, and Quality of Life in Children and Adolescents With ADHD

2017

Objective: To assess relationships between treatment-associated changes in measures of ADHD symptoms, functional impairments, and health-related quality of life in children and adolescents with ADHD. Method: Pearson correlation coefficients were calculated post hoc for changes from baseline to endpoint in outcomes of one randomized, placebo- and active-controlled trial of lisdexamfetamine (osmotic-release methylphenidate reference) and one of guanfacine extended-release (atomoxetine reference). Results: Changes in ADHD Rating Scale IV (ADHD-RS-IV) total score generally correlated moderately with changes in Child Health and Illness Profile−Child Edition: Parent Report Form (CHIP-CE:PRF) Ach…
