Inhibition of xanthine oxidase to prevent statin-induced myalgia and rhabdomiolysis

Although statins remain the cornerstone of lipid-lowering therapy for reducing the burden of atherosclerotic vascular disease, their administration has been associated with muscle-related adverse effects, including myalgia and rhabdomyolysis. Such adverse events are probably due to reduced antioxidant defenses associated with fewer intermediate metabolites in the cholesterol synthesis pathway. Feminism is a fast growing phenomenon in recent years. This paper started with the historical conflict of marriage and feminism, then researched the connection between anime and gender-role. Since Japanese anime was imported to China in 1980s, it has influenced the generation born in 1980s and 1990s in many aspects of their growth. These well-educated people perceived the Japanese culture and values through anime. This study connected gender stereotypes and marriage, and how Chinese well-educated anime fans interpret the gender-role portrayals from anime. Narratives by women managers about spousal support for their careers

In this article we present a qualitative study of spousal support for the careers of women managers. The research material consists of the narratives of 25 women managers in Finland. The study has two main implications. Firstly, unlike previous studies, we use a narrative approach to demonstrate that a woman manager's career and spousal support are experienced as ambiguous and evolving over the career. The support was constructed by the women managers as flourishing, irrelevant, deficient or inconsistent. This article discusses the value of role models in the language acquisition process of international students following an English as Medium of Instruction (EMI) programme in the Netherlands. Narrative interpretations of qualitative data provide insights into the identity work involved in the use of role models and the impact that this work has on the participation of learners in the ir core learning community and other communities. Darba mērķis ir izpētīt Saeimas deputātu pieteikuma teorētiskos un praktiskos aspektus Satversmes tiesas procesā, kā arī analizēt Saeimas deputātu pieteikumu kā parlamenta mazākuma aizsardzības mehānismu. Darba ietvaros aplūkots abstraktās konstitucionālās kontroles iezīmes, Saeimas deputātu pieteikuma būtība un attīstība, kā arī šādam pieteikumam izvirzītās prasības Satversmes tiesas likumā. Pētījumi par valodas lomu parolēs pārsvarā izskata tikai to drošības aspektu, jo likumsakarības lietotāju izvēlētās parolēs iespējo to efektīvu minēšanu. Šīs pētījums izskatīja paroļu lingvistiskus aspektus, to veidošanas stratēģijas, mentālus procesus, ko tās kopīgo ar parastu valodu, lietotāju zināšanu avotus, kā arī uz stratēģiju komponentu vispārējo ietekmi uz drošību. No preskriptīviem avotiem savāktas stratēģijas tika klasificētas pēc to komponentiem; lielākoties iekļaujot sevī paradigmatiskās kopas, kuru elementi var tiek manipulēti, kā arī veidot sintagmatiskās virknes. Correspondence between theory and practice of a Beerkan infiltration experiment

The Beerkan infiltration experiment is carried out by inserting the ring a short depth into the soil and establishing a positive head of water on the infiltration surface for at least a part of the run. Nevertheless, the data are analyzed by assuming a fully unconfined infiltration process (ring insertion depth, d = 0 cm) and a null ponded depth of water (H = 0 cm). The influence of ring insertion and ponded water on an infiltration process of 2 h sampled every minute was tested in this numerical investigation. Darbs ir veltīts optimālās vadības problēmai, kas reducēta uz nogludinošā splaina konstruēšanas problēmu un tiek risināta, izmantojot splainu teorijas rezultātus un metodes. Šajā darbā tiek apskatīta konkrēta veida optimālās vadības problēma, kas balstīta uz lineāru trešās kārtas diferenciālvienādojumu ar papildus robežnosacījumiem. Atkarībā no diferenciālvienādojumam atbilstošā harakteristiskā vienādojuma saknēm tiek veikta atrisinājumu klasifikācija. Darba mērķis ir katram no vienpadsmit gadījumiem atrast attiecīgās stāvokļu funkcijas un kontroles funkcijas analītisko formulu. Iegūtie rezultāti ir aprobēti, analizējot skaitliskus piemērus.
