Pyrrolo[3,4-h]quinolinones a new class of photochemotherapeutic agents

Abstract Pyrrolo[3,4- h ]quinolin-2-ones were synthesized as nitrogen isosters of the angular furocoumarin angelicin, with the aim of obtaining new photochemotherapeutic agents with increased antiproliferative activity and lower undesired toxic effects. A versatile synthetic pathway was approached to allow the isolation of derivatives of the new ring system with a good substitution pattern on the pyrrole moiety. Photobiological screenings of the new compounds revealed a potent phototoxic effect and a great UVA dose dependence, reaching IC 50 values at submicromolar level. Darbinieku kontroles sistēma, izmantojot biometrijas datus

Kvalifikācijas darba mērķis ir izstrādāt darbinieku kontroles sistēmu, kura izmanto biometrijas datus (sejas atpazīšanu), un ar kuras palīdzību var koordinēt un pārvaldīt firmas darbinieku darbības un to personīgos datus, un tas ļauj efektīvāk organizēt uzņēmuma darbību. Šī sistēma ir izveidota C++ programmēšanas valodā izmantojot QT Creator ietvaru un atvērtā koda bibliotēku OpenCv. Sistēmas dati tiek glabāti SQLite datubāzē. Sistēma tika veidota izmantojot gan ūdenskrituma (waterfall) modeli, gan spējas (agile) izstrādes metodes. Sistēma sastāv no 4 moduļiem - autentificēšanās, lietotāja, atpazīšanas, atskaišu.
Altered cerebral blood flow velocity features in fibromyalgia patients in resting-state conditions

[EN] The aim of this study is to characterize in resting-state conditions the cerebral blood flow velocity (CBFV) signals of fibromyalgia patients. The anterior and middle cerebral arteries of both hemispheres from 15 women with fibromyalgia and 15 healthy women were monitored using Transcranial Doppler (TCD) during a 5-minute eyes-closed resting period. Several signal processing methods based on time, information theory, frequency and time-frequency analyses were used in order to extract different features to characterize the CBFV signals in the different vessels. Mechanically stable metal layers for ohmic and blocking contacts on CdZnTe detectors by electroless deposition

CdZnTe detectors are commonly exploited for the detection of gamma rays. However, obtaining mechanical stable, low noise contacts on CdZnTe is still an issue. In particular, ohmic contacts would be preferable for high flux applications. In this work, we show that it is possible to obtain mechanical stable gold contacts by electroless deposition in methanol solution. Moreover, we show that electroless deposited nickel contacts are also mechanical stable and are good candidates for the realization of ohmic contacts on high resistivity CdZnTe crystals.
Family Register in British English: The First Approach to its Systematic Study

The present study looks into an unexplored area of research as it is the family register. An alternative to recording family conversations is the use of popular TV series, as their success lies in the audience s identification with their characters and their communicative style. This work analyses two highly popular series in UK. The results suggest that this register has its own communicative richness and internal variation, the knowledge of which may be of great help for students and professionals travelling to English-speaking countries and living or relating with native speakers in family environments.

This study will present a tool designed for meaning extraction with monoclausal sentences in Italian. Its main features will be illustrated with instances of the Italian causative clause type featuring the verb fare ‘make’ (e.g. Egli fa piangere il bambino ‘He makes the child cry’), a construction which invariably embeds a clause (e.g.Il bambino piange ‘The child cries’) with which it establishes an entailment relationship. Novel bioactive bromopyrrole alkaloids from the Mediterranean sponge Axinella verrucosa

The Mediterranean sponge Axinella verrucosa has been investigated for its alkaloid composition and has been found to produce a complex mixture of bromopyrrole alkaloids. Along with the previously isolated compounds 5-18, four novel alkaloids of this class, compounds 1-4, have been isolated, and their structures established through spectroscopic methods. Compounds 1-4 were found to display neuroprotective activity against the agonists serotonin and glutamate in vitro.
