Tutkimus käsittelee kielikuvien argumentatiivisuutta belgialaisen artistin Stromaen toisen studioalbumin Racine carrée sanoituksissa. Aineistoksi valittiin kyseinen albumi sillä perusteella, että se on saavuttanut suurta suosiota ympäri maailmaa myös maissa, joissa ranska ei ole virallinen kieli. Tarkoituksena on saada selville, kuinka Stro-mae käyttää sonoriteettien toistoa tuodakseen esille näkemyksensä asioista, joita hän käsittelee kappaleissaan. Investigation of fungicidal activity of 3-piperazine-bis(benzoxaborole) and its boronic acid analogue

3-Piperazine-bis(benzoxaborole) and its bis(phenylboronic acid) analogue were investigated in terms of their fungicidal activity. The study was carried out against five filamentous fungi: Aspergillus terreus, Fusarium dimerum, Fusarium solani, Penicillium ochrochloron and Aspergillus niger. 3-Piperazine-bis(benzoxaborole) revealed higher inhibitory activity towards the examined strains than standard antibiotic (amphotericin B), whereas bis(phenylboronic acid) proved to be inactive. The study unequivocally showed that the presence of the heterocyclic benzoxaborole system is essential for antifungal action of the examined compounds.

This paper examines the consistency between gender equality in opinions and attitudes and equality in the division of household labor by building a typology of respondents that combines two indexes for two dimensions of gender equality. The typology identifies four types of couples: gender unequal attitudes and gender unequal housework sharing, gender equal attitudes and gender unequal housework sharing, gender unequal attitudes and gender equal housework sharing, gender equal attitudes and gender equal housework sharing. It provides a space for analysing the ways in which gender, nationality, and other social locations of the subject are negotiated. In this article, I read the famous Finnish nineteenth-century playwright and author Minna Canth’s concise autobiography, focusing on various locations of the autobiographical subject in this rather laconic matter-of-fact text. Long-time variation of soil CO2 fluxes at the summit crater of Vulcano (Italy)

Here, we report the first continuous data of geochemical parameters acquired directly from the active summit crater of Vulcano. This approach provides a means to better investigate deep geochemical processes associated with the degassing system of Vulcano Island. In particular, we report on soil CO2 fluxes from the upper part of Vulcano, a closed-conduit volcano, from September 2007 to October 2010. Large variations in the soil CO2 and plume SO2 fluxes (order of magnitude), coinciding with other discontinuous geochemical parameters (CO2 concentrations in fumarole gas) and physical parameters (increase of shallow seismic activity and fumarole temperatures) have been recorded.
