Sinemurian to lowermost Toarcian ammonites of the Brescian Prealps (Southern Alps, Italy): preliminary biostratigraphical framework and correlations.

2009

10 pages; International audience; A set of 28 ammonite biohorizons or faunal assemblages is proposed for the Sinemurian, the Pliensbachian and the lowermost Toarcian of the Brescian Prealps, in part based on the published data of the authors of this contribution and partly on new results, derived both from recent field investigations and from the study of the historical collection of Lower Jurassic ammonites preserved in the Museum of Natural Sciences of Brescia (Northern Italy). The biohorizons are present in the Liassic carbonate succession of the Brescian Prealps, cropping out between the eastern surroundings of Brescia (Botticino), to the east, and Lake Iseo, to the west. Since the Hett…

Long-chain branched ROMP polymers

2009

This article describes the construction of branched ROMP-polymer architectures via polycondensation of ABn-type macromonomers. For this convergent strategy, a polymer was synthesized that carries several hydroxyl-groups along the polymer chain and one carboxylic acid group at the chain end. An esterification reaction between these functional groups yielded long-chain branched polymers. The polymers were analyzed by NMR and SEC to monitor the condensation reaction. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem, 2009

Architecture, self-assembly and properties of well-defined hybrid polymers based on polyhedral oligomeric silsequioxane (POSS)

2013

Abstract Well-defined hybrid polymers based on polyhedral oligomeric silsequioxane (POSS) with a variety of architectures have been developed, including telechelic polymers, block copolymers and star-shaped polymers. The synthesis, self-assembly and properties of this kind of materials are reviewed. Well-defined POSS-containing hybrid polymers can be constructed by living polymerization techniques, such as ring-opening polymerization and living free-radical polymerization or the combination of living polymerization and coupling reactions, such as click chemistry and hydrosilylation. The self-assembly behavior of well-defined POSS-containing hybrid polymers is also described in detail. The P…

A “click” approach to ROMP block copolymers

2008

Amphiphilic block copolymers can be conveniently prepared via convergent syntheses, allowing each individual polymer block to be prepared via the polymerization technique that gives the best architectural control. The convergent “click-chemistry” route presented here, gives access to amphiphilic diblock copolymers prepared from a ring opening metathesis polymer and polyethylene glycol. Because of the high functional group tolerance of ruthenium carbene initiators, highly functional ring opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) polymer blocks can be prepared. The described synthetic route allows the conjugation of these polymer blocks with other end-functional polymers to give well-defined a…

Thiol-functionalized ROMP polymers via Sacrificial Synthesis

2009

The synthesis of well-defined and highly functionalized thiol-functionalized polymers has been accomplished via the ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP). A sacrificial synthesis-based approach was chosen for this interesting functional group since it has proven to give precise control over molecular weight and selective placement of end-groups on a different functionality before. Thiol-functionalized ROMP-polymers were successfully synthesized employing thioacetal monomers, which can be cleaved by hydrogenation leaving the desired thiol group behind. The placement of this highly reactive functional group at one chain end of a poly(norborneneimide) is demonstrated by analytical meth…

Imidotungsten(VI) complexes with chelating phenols as ROMP catalysts

2011

Abstract Tungsten(VI) complexes of the type [W(NPh)Cl3(L)] (L = chelating phenolate) were studied as catalyst precursors for ROMP of 2-norbornene, dicyclopentadiene and 5-vinyl-2-norbornene. These compounds form active catalysts when treated by ethyl magnesium bromide. Moreover, polymerisations can be run under ambient atmosphere without complicated inert atmosphere techniques. Synthesis and crystal structure of a new precursor complex [W(NPh)Cl3(LS)] (LS = 2,4-di-tert-butyl-6-(phenylthiomethyl)phenolate) are also described.

Improving Image Quality in a multi-plane Compton Telescope for Hadron Therapy Monitoring

2023
