Perehdyttämisestä perehdyttämis- ja perehtymisprosessiin
2010
Aineistoanalyysissa sovellettiin grounded-teorian koodausperiaatteita. Tutkimuksessa tunnistettiin seuraavia perehdyttämisen tehtäviä: myönteisten mielikuvien luominen, tiedon tarjoaminen sekä tulokkaan rohkaisu oma-aloitteiseen tiedon etsintään, tu…
Erasmus exchange students : A behind-the-scenes view into an ELF community of practice
2009
The present paper examines how some Erasmus exchange students studying temporarily at the University of Szeged or at the Charles University in Prague are socialized in(to) their new communities of practice. The paper adopts a language socialization perspective combined with a community of practice approach, and thus contributes to a vastly under-researched area within ELF. The paper reveals that the participants collect first hand experience of using ELF within their newly emerging Erasmus community of practice. Very importantly, though, ELF, is not the only language that they are using within the Erasmus community; and the Erasmus community is not the only community of practice which they …
Scaffolding adult immigrant students in an EFL lesson

Oppimisprosessi on luonteeltaan enemmänkin sosiaalinen kuin yksilöllinen. Tämä lähestymistapa on hyödyllinen myös aikuisille maahanmuuttajaopiskelijoille, koska sosiokulttuuriseen näkemykseen perustuvassa oppimisympäristössä he oppivat sekä oppiainetta että perehtyvät yhteiskunnan kulttuuriin, johon he sopeutuvat turvallisessa ja kannustavassa ympäristössä muiden seurassa. Sosiokulttuurisen teorian mukaan oppiminen on opettajan ja opiskelijoiden välisen vuorovaikutuksen seuraus, joka tapahtuu opiskelijoiden lähikehityksen vyöhykkeellä (the zone of proximal development, ZPD). Lähikehityksen vyöhyke on oppimisen todellisen kehitystason ja potentiaalisen kehitystason välinen ero. Toisin sanoen…
ICAnDoiT: the impact of computerised adaptive corrective feedback on L2 English learners
2016
The present dissertation examines the impact of (computerised) adaptive corrective feedback, that is, feedback dynamically adapting to learners’ abilities, in English as a second/foreign language (L2) and explores the ways to maximise this impact. The study was inspired by the sociocultural perspective on development, which had implications for the interpretation of the results, including those obtained through statistical data analyses. The dissertation comprises five articles and a synthesis. In the first article, a positive effect of adaptive corrective feedback on the learners’ ability to formulate L2 English wh-questions is established. The second article explores how learners’ beliefs…

Continuum: A spatiotemporal data model to represent and qualify filiation relationships
2013
International audience; This work introduces an ontology-based spatio-temporal data model to represent entities evolving in space and time. A dynamic phenomenon generates a complex relationship network between the entities involved in the process. At the abstract level, the relationships can be identity or topological filiations. The existence of an identity filiation depends on whether the object changes its identity or not. On the other hand, topological filiations are based exclusively on the spatial component, like in the case of growth, reduction, merging or splitting. When combining identity and topological filiations, six filiation relationships are obtained, forming a second abstrac…
Spectroscopie des hexafluorures à nombre impair d'électrons
1995
From a theoretical point of view, a tensorial formalism adapted to the study of molecules or octahedral ions with a half-integer angular momentum has been developed for the first time. We have used here the method of projective representations, more consistent than that of double groups. A complete set of coupling coefficients and formulas, as well as the corresponding computing programs have been elaborated. This has firstly allowed to write a simple model describing the vibronic structure of colored hexafluorides. Then, somme applications of this formalism to the study of rovibronic couplings of XY6 molecules in a fourfold degenerate electronic state have been considered, especially conce…
Integrating vehicle specific power methodology and microsimulation in estimating emissions on urban roundabouts
2021
In this study pollutant emissions were estimated from VSP modal emission rates and the distribution of time spent in each VSP mode obtained from the speed profiles both gathered in the field and simulated in AIMSUN at a sample of urban roundabouts. The versatility of the micro-simulation model for a calibration aimed at improving accuracy of emissions estimates was tested in order to ensure that second-by-second trajectories experienced in the field by a test vehicle through the sampled roundabouts properly reflected the simulated speed profiles. The first results which the thesis will refer, confirmed the feasibility of the smart approach that integrates the use of field-observed and simul…
A microsimulation calibration methodology based on speed-density relationships for freeways
2014
This paper describes the calibration methodology based on speed-density relationships in the microsimulation calibration process, stated that they represent the traffic flow phenomenon in a wide range of operational conditions and well summarize all the information that may be collected on field (or following a run of the microsimulation model) on two of the three key variables of traffic flow. The matching of speed-density relationships from field and simulation was evaluated using statistical analysis as technique of pattern recognition. A test freeway segment under uncongested traffic conditions was selected as case study; based on traffic data observed at A22 Brenner Freeway, Italy, sta…
