This doctoral dissertation explores leadership in the dyadic relationship of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the Chair of the Board, and in the process leading to CEO dismissal. The study contributes to the literature on relational leadership and the human side of corporate governance and Board work by increasing understanding of the relational practices and processes of the CEO and Chair. This study examines interpersonality and audience awareness of initial greetings and leave-taking formulae in 1,041 e-mails (523 Finnish, 518 Swedish) written by Finnish (n = 222) and Swedish (n = 174) language learners in basic education, secondary education and at university level in Finland. The results reveal that there are certain communicative differences between the two groups. The e-mails contain different levels of formality: Swedish learners use more initial greetings and their messages are slightly more coherent than those of Finnish learners. Materiaalina käytin artikkeleita suomalaisista Helsingin Sanomista ja Ilta-Sanomista sekä saksalaisista lehdistä Der Kicker ja Die Süddeutsche Zeitung. Candida yeasts are saprophytes naturally present in the environment and forming colonies on human mucous membranes and skin. They are opportunistic fungi that cause severe and even fatal infections in immunocompromised individuals. Citrus species extracts are well known sources of bio-functional compounds with health-promoting effects. In particular, essential oils are known for their antibacterial activity due to the high content of terpenes. In this work, the steam-distilled essential oil from the leaves of Citrus limon var. pompia was loaded in phospholipid vesicles. The physico-chemical characteristics of the essential oil loaded vesicles were compared with those of vesicles that were loaded with citral, which is one of the most abundant terpenes of Citrus essential oils.
