Aim: Biological diversity typically varies between climatically different regions, and regions closer to the equator often support higher numbers of taxa than those closer to the poles. However, these trends have been assessed for a few organism groups, and the existing studies have rarely been based on extensive identical surveys in different climatic regions. The present dissertation focused on musical affect regulation, i.e. on the use of music to self-regulate affective states such as emotions, moods, and energy levels. In publication I, relevant findings from previous research were extracted and the field’s conceptual clarity and precision was assessed. Społeczne zaangażowanie to obecnie, poza działalnością charytatywną, odpowiedź na potrzeby społeczności. Najważniejsze jest, by przedsiębiorstwa wdrożyły procesy, dzięki którym względy społeczne, środowiskowe i etyczne oraz kwestie praw człowieka staną się stałym elementem ich działalności i strategii biznesowej.

Dangerous Effects Induced on Power MOSFETs by Terrestrial Neutrons

This paper investigates the effects that terrestrial neutrons can induce on power MOSFETs when they are biased during their normal working conditions especially in inverters for photovoltaic applications. After a brief review of power MOSFETs failure phenomena caused by neutron irradiation (with emphasis on so called “Single Event Effects” (SEE)), the results of an accelerated test performed with the Am-Be source at the University of Palermo are discussed.

Medium-term effects of bisoprolol administration on renal hemodynamics and function in mild to moderate essential hypertension

Arterial hypertension is a significant cause of end-stage renal failure; effective treatment of hypertensive patients reduces the rate of progression of this disorder. ss-Blockers, particularly nonselective agents, are associated with deterioration of renal function in patients with chronic renal failure. Previous studies on the interaction of the beta1-selective adrenergic antagonist bisoprolol with kidney function have been performed only acutely and over the short term.
