Discoloring and layers on bands and restorations during fixed orthodontic therapy are well known clinical phenomenon. Because of the complexity of etiological factors an in-vitro model was used in this study. Aim of the study was to examine the amounts and sort of metals which are dissolved. Therefore, respectively 25 normed MOD-cavities in Frasaco-teeth were filled with a non-gamma-2-amalgam (Amalcap plus, Vivadent) and condensed manually or mechanically. Background Glass ionomer cements (GIC) used for restoration of missing dental structures have high biocompatibility and remineralization potential. However, low mechanical resistance excludes their use for long-term restorations of extensive lesions, particularly on approximal surfaces in permanent dentition. Purpose To evaluate the clinical behavior and survival of full coverage monolithic zirconia crowns on posterior teeth over a 5-year follow-up. Methods Fifty patients were recruited and underwent restoration with a Lava Plus monolithic zirconia crown (Lava™ Frame Zirconia, 3M Espe, Germany) on premolars or molars. Patients were monitored over a 5-year follow-up (2014-19), recording any biological and/or mechanical complications; these data were used to estimate the crowns' success rate. Abstract Phthalate esters for decades, and probably even now, were used as softeners in water-based paintings. In general, these compounds are dangerous owing to their carcinogenicity and reproductive effects. Phthalates are not chemically but only physically bound to the matrices, hence, they may be leached into the environment and are ubiquitously found in environmental matrices. Many image processing techniques work with scattered data distribution usually employing grid based methods leading to numerical problems. To address this issue, a numerical method avoiding mesh generation can be used. Such a method performs an integral representation by means of a smoothing kernel function and, in the discrete formulation, involves domain particles. El siglo XXI ha supuesto la consolidación del sistema acusatorio en la mayor parte de los países occidentales. Este sistema no solo comporta un cambio de norma, sino también un cambio de cultura procesal. En esa nueva cultura se han incorporado procedimientos que permiten los acuerdos y pactos; por ejemplo, en unos casos con el Ministerio Público, como sucede con las conformidades; en otros, acuerdos entre víctima y victimario, que permiten trabajar desde y con las personas, y favorecen la reparación. En un panorama de ultrapunitivismo, la justicia restaurativa y la mediación, como cauces que favorecen el diálogo, se presentan como un retorno a las personas, una bocanada de aire fresco.

Il saggio riporta i contenuti del mio abstract per il convegno “Fortificazione, memoria, paesaggio”, promosso in occasione dei Cinquant’anni di attività dell’Istituto Italiano dei Castelli, onlus, 1964-2014. Bologna 27-29 novembre 2014. Il convegno è stato organizzato dall’Istituto Italiano dei Castelli Onlus, dal Dipartimento di Storia Culture Civiltà Alma Matere Studiorum – Università di Bologna.
